Liverpool is reportedly interested in a £40m striker who was previously turned down by Arsenal in January.

The club is already strategizing to enhance Arne Slot’s team in preparation for another competitive season against Arsenal and Manchester City.

Having secured the Premier League title with Jurgen Klopp’s squad, there is considerable anticipation regarding the potential impact of the Dutch manager as he looks to integrate one or two of his own signings.

Reports indicate that Liverpool is keen on acquiring Milos Kerkez, which seems to be a shrewd move considering Andrew Robertson’s current performance.

While Robertson has not been underperforming—having played a key role in a title-winning team—his form may necessitate reinforcement.

Liverpool is reportedly interested in signing £40m striker Mateo Retegui, who was previously rejected by Arsenal in January.

As Liverpool prepares for another competitive season against teams like Arsenal and Manchester City, they are looking to enhance Arne Slot’s squad.

Slot, who has already led Liverpool to a Premier League title under Jurgen Klopp, is expected to bring in new talent to further strengthen the team.

Among the potential signings, Milos Kerkez is being considered, especially given Andrew Robertson’s recent performance, which, while solid, shows some signs of decline at 31 years old.

Additionally, Liverpool is eyeing Atalanta’s Retegui, who has scored 27 goals this season, making him a standout option for fans, especially with Darwin Nunez likely to depart.

Retegui’s impressive form in Serie A and his determination on the field, reminiscent of Luis Suarez, have caught Liverpool’s attention.

Interestingly, Arsenal had the opportunity to sign Retegui in January, but Mikel Arteta declined the offer, which also included Moises Kean, another player excelling in Italy.

Mikel Arteta had the opportunity to acquire Retegui, along with other talents like Moises Kean, who is currently excelling in Italy.

Nevertheless, the Gunners decided against signing a striker in January, despite the available options.

Retegui’s transfer fee is estimated to be around £40m for clubs interested this summer, which is quite reasonable considering his age and goal-scoring ability.

Renowned Italian coach Luciano Spaletti recently described Retegui as a ‘complete player,’ suggesting he could potentially achieve greater success than Federico Chiesa, who is set to leave Liverpool after just one season due to his struggle to secure a place in the starting lineup.
