: Sunderland has secured the signing of Noah Sadiki from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

The transfer fee is £14.5M, with a contract lasting until 2030.

Sunderland has outmaneuvered competitors to acquire midfielder Noah Sadiki.

NOAH Sadiki expressed that he was attracted to Sunderland’s thrilling vision for the future and the club’s stature after committing to a five-year contract with the Black Cats.

Sadiki joins Enzo Le Fee and Habib Diarra at the Stadium of Light, as Sunderland’s roster continues to take shape ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.

Sunderland will pay an initial fee of £15m to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise for Sadiki, along with an additional £2.5m in potential bonuses, having successfully fended off strong interest from other clubs, including Leeds United, for the adaptable 20-year-old.

Despite being young, Sadiki has already accumulated over 140 senior appearances, having played for Anderlecht’s first team before transferring to Union SG, where he won the Belgian championship and made significant contributions in the Europa League last season.

Sadiki stated: “I want to express my gratitude to everyone for the warm welcome I’ve received at Sunderland.

“The owner reached out to me after conducting thorough research on my background.

“This is a major club, but what truly persuaded me was my conversations with the staff. They shared insights about the club’s history, their ambitions, and their confidence in the role I can fulfill.

“I aim to contribute with duels, forward runs, passion, and defensive efforts. Above all, my goal is to win – and I carry this ambition with me every time I step onto the pitch.

“This is my team now, and I’m genuinely pleased with my choice.”

Sadiki also had a personal discussion with Sunderland’s head coach Regis Le Bris while considering his various options this summer.

He remarked: “I spoke with him, and he persuaded me to join Sunderland. People like him are very engaged. I am eager to collaborate with him because his coaching style aligns with my playing style.

Kristjaan Speakman, the sporting director of Sunderland, stated: “Noah has gained significant experience at a young age, and coupled with his ambition to improve, this makes him an exciting addition to our team.

“Throughout his tenure at USG, he has consistently participated in both domestic and European competitions, and moving to the Premier League is a natural progression in his promising career.

“Our interest in securing his skills has been longstanding, and we are confident that our culture and playing style will allow him to flourish. He is eager to be here, and we are excited to support him as he acclimates to Sunderland.”

Sadiki’s previous club, Union SG, will compete in the Champions League this season, but the midfielder – who is also adept at playing as a centre-back or right-back – felt it was the right moment to make a change.

He remarked: “My accomplishments [in Belgium] have greatly influenced me because winning those trophies was not an easy feat.

I believe Union SG has contributed significantly to my development, and it is because of them that I am here today.

“I want to express my gratitude to them and wish them the best of luck in the Champions League. This team truly deserves it, especially 90 years after winning the title.

“I am now prepared for a new challenge.”
