Liverpool reach huge double agreement as bid to sign PSG pair in combined £155m raid gets serious…

Liverpool has made significant progress in negotiations as they aim to secure PSG players in a combined £155m deal.

Bradley Barcola and Ibrahima Mbaye are currently awaiting updates from Paris Saint-Germain regarding ongoing discussions with Liverpool, with personal terms reportedly agreed in principle with the club at Anfield, according to TEAMtalk.

The agents of both players, Moussa Sissoko for Barcola and Jorge Mendes for Mbaye, have been instrumental in establishing the groundwork for these personal agreements with Liverpool.

However, a key challenge remains PSG’s valuation of the two players.

The European champions are looking for nearly £200million combined, but sources suggest that the recent signing of Ajax winger Mika Godts has provided them with more leeway in their pricing.

PSG had initially set Barcola’s price at approximately £145million, but it is believed that his representatives now think a deal closer to £125million is feasible.

The situation with Mbaye mirrors this. PSG has been asking for around £50million for the promising young talent, but there is optimism among those involved in the transfer that he could be available for around £30million.

With Godts now part of the squad at Parc des Princes, and with Maghnes Akliouche and Ferran Torres already signed, discussions between Liverpool and PSG are ongoing regarding both players.

Liverpool is considering a remarkable double acquisition of Barcola and Mbaye.

Sources close to the agents involved have informed TEAMtalk that Liverpool is open to the possibility of signing both players and has not indicated to either party that they must choose one over the other.

The Reds’ strategy could potentially allow for both players to be integrated into the squad.

Liverpool is prepared to facilitate Cody Gakpo’s potential transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, but only if a suitable replacement is secured.

With a need for a replacement for Mohamed Salah already in place, this would theoretically create space in both the squad and budget for Barcola and Mbaye.

We recognize that head coach Andoni Iraola is also amenable to Gakpo’s exit, but only if Liverpool acquires a substitute.

In the case of PSG, the exclusion of Barcola and Mbaye from the Trophée des Champions game against Lens on Sunday serves as another sign that Luis Enrique is aware their futures are probably not in Paris.

The main question now is if PSG is ready to adjust their valuations enough for Liverpool to successfully pursue either transfer.
