Arsenal vs Brentford: Today’s predicted lineup and confirmed team updates.

Arsenal welcomes Brentford for midweek Premier League action tonight, with William Saliba’s participation uncertain for the Gunners.

The French defender sustained a knock during training prior to Sunday’s clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, missing the heated 1-1 draw.

With Gabriel Magalhaes already sidelined due to a thigh injury, Mikel Arteta has included Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie in his defensive lineup.

The Gunners manager may need to depend on this duo once more against Brentford. During a pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Arteta did not dismiss Saliba’s chances but indicated it would be a ‘matter of days’ before he recovers from the minor injury that kept him out over the weekend.

Arsenal also has Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber ready to step in at centre-back, with Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ben White prepared to offer support at left-back and right-back, respectively.

In other news, Leandro Trossard is still a doubt after missing the draw against Chelsea. The Belgian international had to leave the field in the first half against Bayern Munich last week, but his injury is not considered serious.

Viktor Gyokeres made his return to action after a four-game absence on Sunday and will be eager to reclaim his spot in the lineup ahead of Mikel Merino, who has performed well in his absence.

However, the fitness status of Arsenal’s other forward, Kai Havertz, remains unclear. The German international has not played since the season’s opening weekend, having undergone what the club termed ‘minor’ knee surgery in August.

Arteta hinted that he might be available again following the November international break, with the north London derby against Chelsea last weekend being mentioned as another potential return date.

However, Arteta has stated that Havertz is still ‘weeks away’ from making a comeback.

In other news, the Arsenal manager has recently welcomed back Martin Odegaard, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Martinelli from their injuries, providing him with plenty of options to rotate his squad this evening.

Arsenal’s starting lineup against Brentford – Metro’s prediction

Odegaard will be looking to secure a place in the starting XI today, especially with Eberechi Eze having logged significant minutes since the conclusion of the November international break.

If everything goes according to plan against the Bees, Arteta might also want to give Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka a lighter workload, considering the challenging match against the in-form Aston Villa on Saturday.

Predicted Arsenal XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Mosquera, Hincapie, Calafiori; Odegaard, Zubimendi, Rice; Saka, Merino, Madueke
