Vinicius Jr has already expressed his position on a potential move to Arsenal, stating that the ‘transfer is approved’.

Arsenal is reportedly contemplating an unexpected bid for Vinicius Junior.

Vinicius Junior has indicated a preference to remain at Real Madrid rather than transfer to Arsenal this summer. The winger has emerged as a target for the newly crowned Premier League champions, who are looking to add a new left-sided attacker to their squad.

Reports suggest that Arsenal has already ‘approved’ a possible acquisition of Vinicius, who is now in the final year of his contract at the Bernabeu. He has yet to agree to new terms, putting the Spanish club in a position where they must decide whether to sell him or risk losing him for free in a year.

Real Madrid is eager to avoid such a situation, especially since Vinicius is regarded as one of the top players in the world.

The 26-year-old seems inclined to remain in the Spanish capital, having previously stated that he would be content to finish his career there.

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, he said: “I’m not rushing to renew my contract. I’m contracted to the club until 2027, so there’s still much to discuss between Madrid and me before then.

“Madrid is calm, and I am calm. The president has faith in me, and I have faith in him. That’s all there is to it. We just need to wait, live each day and moment, and enjoy being at the best club in the world.

“I’ve never envisioned myself away from Real Madrid. I cherish every moment I spend here because this is my dream club. I always aspired to play here and to remain for such a long time.

“Now I’m one of the team captains. Even at a young age, that’s something very special that doesn’t often occur in football history.

“So I relish every moment. I want to stay here for the rest of my life, but I’m not in a rush to renew my contract.”

Vinicius showcased his talent during the World Cup, netting four goals in five matches before Brazil was eliminated by Norway in the round of 16.

In the previous season, he scored 22 goals across all competitions for Real Madrid, even though the team did not secure any trophies for the second consecutive year.
