Xabi Alonso has confirmed the squad as the Madrid duo gets ready for an emotional reunion at Anfield.

For many, this match was already significant, but with both Xabi Alonso and Trent Alexander-Arnold making their return to Anfield, it’s set to feel entirely different.

As reported on realmadrid.com, the Spanish club has announced their traveling squad for the Champions League match on Tuesday night, which includes both the former Liverpool midfielder and the defender who moved from Merseyside to Madrid this summer.

Real Madrid has confirmed their traveling squad for Anfield.

Alonso’s team practiced at Valdebebas this morning before heading to England, engaging in pressing drills, tactical exercises, and finishing practice.

Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba, and Dani Carvajal were sidelined due to injuries, while teenager Mastantuono trained individually indoors.

The 22-man squad features Mbappe, Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, Endrick, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, and is set to arrive in Liverpool later today.

Real Madrid squad: Courtois, Lunin, Gonzalez; Militao, Trent, Asencio, Carreras, Fran Garcia, Mendy, Huijsen; Bellingham, Camavinga, Valverde, Tchouameni, Guler, Ceballos; Vini Jr, Endrick, Mbappe, Rodrygo, Gonzalo, Brahim.

For Alonso, this marks another emotional return to the venue where he played a pivotal role in the unforgettable night in Istanbul in 2005.

For Trent, it’s a different story – a return to the place he once called home, now donning the jersey of his former dream opponent.

Liverpool is gearing up for an emotional night at Anfield.

This comes after Trent’s interview with Amazon Prime Video Sport, where he stated, “No matter what, my feelings won’t change towards Liverpool” – remarks that have only heightened the anticipation for the moment his name is announced at Anfield.

In the meantime, there’s mixed news regarding our squad ahead of the match, with Paul Joyce’s injury update confirming Curtis Jones’ return but another setback for Alexander Isak, who was absent from Monday’s training session at Kirkby.

Regardless of the outcome, Tuesday night promises to be unforgettable.

The story will revolve around two men who previously donned our red, returning to our grounds – one celebrated as a legend, while the other serves as a reminder that loyalty in football is not always eternal.
