Oliver Glasner confirms major Crystal Palace injury blow ahead of Liverpool cup clash…

Oliver Glasner has confirmed a significant injury setback for Crystal Palace ahead of their cup match against Liverpool.

The manager will be missing one of his crucial players for the Carabao Cup encounter with Liverpool tomorrow evening.

The Eagles are set to visit Anfield, aiming to add to the woes of Arne Slot’s team, who faced their fourth consecutive Premier League loss against Brentford on Saturday.

It was the Eagles who triggered Liverpool’s poor league performance by defeating the champions 2-1 at Selhurst Park at the end of last month.

Glasner, who led Palace to FA Cup victory last season, has announced that Chris Richards will be unavailable for tomorrow night’s match – a player who has been on the pitch for every minute in the Premier League for the south London club.

“We have just one concern: Chris Richards is dealing with a minor calf issue, so he won’t be making the trip to Liverpool tomorrow,” Glasner stated (as reported by Liverpool.com).

“All other players are fit and have recovered well. The team demonstrated at the Emirates that they are in good shape and were pushing for an equalizer until the final whistle, so things look promising.”

Palace will aim to rectify their previous performance tomorrow night and recover from their 1-0 loss at the Emirates.

Players like Jean-Philippe Mateta, Ismaila Sarr, and Adam Wharton are among those who could exploit Liverpool’s vulnerable defense.

The Reds have not managed to keep a clean sheet since their 1-0 victory over Burnley in mid-September.

Virgil van Dijk and Ibou Konate appear to be struggling to find their rhythm together, while Slot continues to search for his ideal full-back combination, with Milos Kerkez underperforming since his summer transfer from Bournemouth and Jeremie Frimpong sidelined due to injury.

It will be intriguing to see which starting eleven the former Feyenoord manager chooses, as the Carabao Cup presents Liverpool with an excellent chance to secure some mid-term silverware!
