Sources indicate that Leeds have been informed that a £20m offer for Oumar Solet will be accepted.

Leeds have been told that their £20m bid for Oumar Solet will be accepted amidst a contract situation twist.

Leeds can acquire Udinese’s Oumar Solet for a reduced fee of £20 million this summer, but they are facing tough competition from other Serie A teams, according to sources from Football Insider.

The 26-year-old Solet has become one of the top-performing centre-backs in Italy at Udinese since his transfer from Salzburg in January of last year.

He netted three goals in 38 appearances across all competitions last season, contributing to the team’s 10th place finish in Serie A.

Leeds have expressed their interest in Solet this summer as Daniel Farke seeks to strengthen his centre-back lineup.

They could secure his signature for approximately £20m, but they need to act swiftly to outpace other contenders.

Inter Milan and Juventus are also monitoring Solet’s situation, with a departure seeming likely as his current contract is due to expire in June 2027.

Leeds can negotiate a deal for Oumar Solet at a lower price due to contract uncertainties.

Farke has already signed a new centre-back from Italy this summer, bringing in Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo for about £34m following Pascal Struijk’s departure.

However, the Whites’ manager is still eager to add another player in that position, with Solet potentially joining soon.

On the Transfer Insider podcast, I mentioned: “His contract situation at Udinese is quite appealing for Leeds, as he enters the final year of his deal, and they will be hoping to secure the centre-back for a bargain fee of around £20 million.

“They are monitoring the situation, but Leeds are not the only ones interested in Solet; Inter Milan and Juventus are also showing interest. If either of those clubs were to solidify their interest in Solet, it could complicate Leeds’ efforts to secure his signature.”

Nico Elvedi is considering a move to Leeds as the club continues its search for a centre-back.

Leeds has turned its attention to the Bundesliga for a new defender this summer, with Elvedi from Borussia Monchengladbach being a potential target.

Sources have informed Football Insider that Elvedi is eager to join Leeds this summer as he aims to advance his career.

Monchengladbach appears prepared to part ways with the 29-year-old this summer, especially since his contract is set to expire next June.

The 73-time Swiss international Elvedi has accumulated over 350 appearances for the German club since 2015, including 33 league matches last season.
