Premier League regulations prevent Newcastle United’s star from participating against Arsenal – a quality substitute has been arranged.

Anthony Gordon, Tino Livramento, Fabian Schar, Emil Krafth, and Joelinton will not be available for the match against Arsenal.

Newcastle United will be missing several crucial players for their Premier League match against Arsenal on Saturday (kick-off at 5:30pm).

Due to injuries, Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento will be absent, while Fabian Schar and Emil Krafth are still out of action.

Additionally, Joelinton will be unavailable as he serves the second match of his two-game suspension.

Joelinton received his 10th yellow card of the Premier League season during the 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park after a challenge on Jean-Philippe Mateta. Consequently, he missed the defeat against Bournemouth and will remain suspended for the trip to the Emirates Stadium.

According to Premier League regulations, any player who accumulates 10 yellow cards in their club’s first 32 matches faces an automatic two-match suspension.

Unfortunately for both Joelinton and Newcastle, he could have avoided the ban entirely had he not been booked against Palace, as the 32-game limit would have been surpassed.

He is expected to return for next Saturday’s match against Brighton & Hove Albion at St James’ Park (kick-off at 3pm).

Newcastle United’s midfield has received a boost.

Despite Joelinton’s absence, Newcastle has welcomed back Bruno Guimaraes and Lewis Miley from injury in recent weeks.

Miley has started the last two games, while Guimaraes made a substitute appearance in the match against Bournemouth.

However, Howe has suggested that the Newcastle captain may return to the starting lineup at the Emirates Stadium.

Howe stated to The Gazette: “He has had a full week of training and has performed exceptionally well. I am very pleased with his progress.”

“It has been challenging for him. You could observe during the match against Bournemouth that he entered the game with the best intentions to provide a strong physical performance, yet at times, it was evident that he was struggling to keep up with the pace due to limited training. Nevertheless, he played with heart, spirit, and determination.

“However, the week he has experienced will benefit him greatly. He is an essential player for us in numerous ways, and naturally, we are eager to have him back on the field as soon as possible, but I must ensure that it does not harm him in any way.

“Having him back with the team has been wonderful. His positive attitude can only serve to help and motivate the players around him.”
