Liverpool initiates contact to sign Brazilian talent

Liverpool news: Contact established for £38m Brazilian as transfer update on World Cup player is received.

Liverpool has decided to alter its transfer strategy and has reportedly reached out to a new target seeking a change of environment.

Andoni Iraola’s inaugural summer at the helm of Liverpool has been relatively uneventful so far. However, this is expected to change as the Reds aim to re-establish themselves in the Premier League title race this season.

Liverpool has already secured two significant signings, with Jeremy Jacquet completing his pre-arranged transfer to Merseyside. The £60 million defender has been joined by the unexpected acquisition of £34.5 million winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna.

There is still more activity anticipated, as Iraola seeks to imprint his vision on the squad. Mirror Football has analyzed the latest developments around Anfield this weekend as the English giants aim to intensify their efforts in the transfer market.

Liverpool reaches out for Joao Gomes

Liverpool may look to take advantage of Wolves’ relegation from the Premier League by pursuing midfielder Joao Gomes. Reports indicate that the Reds have already made contact with his club to facilitate the transfer.

Gomes, 25, was previously linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, but a disagreement with Jorge Mendes, who was managing the negotiations, led to the deal falling through. This situation could present an opportunity for Liverpool to acquire the 10-cap Brazil international if they choose to proceed.

Brazilian news outlet Globo Esporte has reported that both Liverpool and Manchester United have approached Wolves regarding a potential deal. The two clubs have inquired about the financial aspects of the transfer, with the player estimated to be valued at approximately £38 million.

United is already close to enhancing their midfield with the signing of Chelsea’s Andrey Santos. However, their pursuit of Atalanta’s Ederson is reportedly on the brink of collapse due to concerns arising from his medical examination, which means they may still be looking for alternatives.

Gomes is highly attractive to Premier League teams due to his experience in the top tier of English football. Despite the club’s recent difficulties, the former Flamengo talent has maintained a solid reputation at Molineux.

While the midfield may not seem like an area in urgent need of change for Liverpool, the situation could quickly evolve with Alexis Mac Allister being linked to Real Madrid and Curtis Jones considering a potential departure.

Reds remain steadfast on Gakpo

Liverpool is reportedly “not considering” allowing Cody Gakpo to leave Anfield this summer, despite interest from Tottenham. The Reds forward has been closely associated with a move to north London, but the club is not inclined to sell.

This information comes from Fabrizio Romano, who noted that Spurs’ primary target for the wing position is Manchester City’s Savinho. Speculation regarding Gakpo’s future has intensified following the Netherlands’ exit from the World Cup, but he is expected to join Iraola’s squad for pre-season soon.

In his latest transfer update on his official YouTube channel, Romano stated: “My understanding is that the main names to consider for Tottenham in the winger positions are Cody Gakpo, but currently, Liverpool has not opened the door for an exit, and Savinho.

“Savinho is a key target for Tottenham. Both players are seen as priorities for the winger role.

“I’m not suggesting they will join, as that depends on negotiations, but Savinho is the top target because Tottenham has been interested for over a year. If you recall, I have mentioned this in my videos.

“Cody Gakpo is also a target for Tottenham, but at this moment, Liverpool is not allowing an exit, so we must exercise patience.
