Leeds United move edges closer as club table huge offer for ‘feared’ free agent…

Leeds United’s pursuit of Harry Wilson intensifies as the club presents a substantial offer for the ‘feared’ free agent.

Since last summer, Leeds United has been keen on acquiring Harry Wilson and is now making significant efforts to finalize his signing as a free agent.

Fulham prevented a transfer to Leeds during the closing moments of the previous summer transfer window, despite the Whites believing they had an agreement in place to secure him.

The Welsh international’s contract will expire at the end of this month, and although Fulham has proposed a new deal, it seems likely he will depart from Craven Cottage this summer.

Leeds is actively negotiating to bring the winger on a free transfer. However, the club recognizes the intense competition they face in their attempt to sign the 29-year-old.

Harry Wilson has been presented with a lucrative pay increase from Leeds United.

Aston Villa and Everton are among the clubs vying for the signature of a winger who netted 11 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances during the 2025/26 season.

Leeds understands the challenges posed by rival clubs in their quest to sign Harry Wilson. Nevertheless, they are determined to secure a deal this summer.

As reported by Football Insider, Leeds has extended a significant contract offer to the 29-year-old, which would substantially increase his salary should he choose to move to Elland Road.

The Whites aim to position him as one of the highest earners within the Leeds squad, as the 49ers recognize the necessity to support Daniel Farke in the transfer market.

Leeds is optimistic that the attractive financial package, along with the chance to collaborate with several of his Wales teammates at Elland Road, will persuade him to make the switch.

Wilson was prepared to join Leeds last summer, and the Whites are confident they remain in a favorable position to sign the winger during the current transfer window.

He would represent a significant addition for Leeds.

Harry Wilson has proven himself as one of the Premier League’s most effective wide players last season and was arguably Fulham’s most potent threat in the attacking third.

His 17 goal contributions highlighted his significance to the London club and partly explained Fulham’s hesitance to let him go, even though Leeds nearly finalized a deal for him last summer.

If Leeds can successfully bring him to Elland Road this time, it would be a considerable achievement, especially since Aston Villa can entice him with the prospect of Champions League football.

Wilson would inject speed, creativity, and a real goal-scoring threat into a Leeds team that sometimes struggled with unpredictability in their attack last season. His knack for creating pivotal moments in the final third is precisely the type of talent that Daniel Farke would appreciate.

Although he would join on a free transfer, acquiring a player of Wilson’s quality would still be seen as a significant declaration of intent from Leeds.
