Leeds is set for an away match against a strong Bournemouth side on Wednesday night, where they can make significant progress towards securing their Premier League status.

Premier League confirms decision for the Bournemouth vs Leeds match.

Leeds has benefited from some favorable refereeing decisions in recent games. Paul Tierney faced criticism for sending off Lisandro Martinez during the match against Leeds at Old Trafford.

Additionally, referee Tim Robinson received backlash for awarding a late penalty to Leeds on Saturday, even though the match was nearly concluded by that point.

However, the Whites have some concerns regarding the referee assigned for their upcoming game against Bournemouth at Dean Court on Wednesday night.

The Premier League has confirmed that Michael Salisbury will officiate the fixture between Bournemouth and Leeds in a few days.

Salisbury was also the referee during Leeds’ 4-3 defeat to Newcastle United, where they conceded two late goals and lost all three points from a winning position.

Leeds fans were outraged by his decision that altered the game’s outcome in Leeds’ favor, and they will be cautious about the upcoming trip to Bournemouth.

The penalty decision that even puzzled Alan Shearer.

Leeds were just minutes away from a memorable victory at St. James’ Park in January. However, Salisbury awarded a penalty to the home team after Ao Tanaka was deemed to have handled the ball.

The ball indeed made contact with the hands of the Leeds midfielder. Nevertheless, he had little choice but to jump to intercept the cross.

Even Newcastle icon Alan Shearer criticized the referee’s decision, asserting that it was never a penalty.

Bruno Guimaraes successfully converted the penalty to equalize, while Lucas Perri let in a soft goal in the 12th minute of extra time, enabling Newcastle to secure a 4-3 victory.

Since that match, Perri has not participated in any league games for Leeds. However, the loss at St. James’ Park will weigh on the minds of Leeds fans when they face Salisbury on Wednesday night.
