VINICIUS JR. MAKES A BOLD STATEMENT BEFORE LIVERPOOL VS REAL MADRID SHOWDOWN! LIVERPOOL UPDATE

Liverpool is set to welcome Real Madrid for the fourth match of the Champions League.

This encounter will occur at Anfield, where Liverpool, playing at home, will take on Real Madrid.

In anticipation of this highly awaited match, Real Madrid’s star player, Vinícius Jr., has delivered a strong message to the Reds.

Today marks one of the most significant matches of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League group stage as record champions Real Madrid face off against Premier League title-holders Liverpool at Anfield.

This heavyweight clash in Europe will be particularly special for Los Blancos manager Xabi Alonso, who returns to Anfield, a place where he is celebrated as a legend from his successful playing career with the Reds.

The Spanish coach has performed admirably at Real Madrid, guiding them to a strong start this season – currently leading La Liga and achieving three victories in three matches in the UEFA Champions League.

However, their perfect winning streak in Europe may face a serious challenge today at Anfield.

Alonso Reflects on His Time with Liverpool

Before the crucial match, Alonso spoke to the media, covering various subjects, starting with what it means for him to return to Anfield.

“It always feels good to return to a place where you have been loved so much,” the Real Madrid manager expressed.

“It was very important; it wasn’t just a meaningless step. I spent five years there and learned a great deal. Not only about playing but also about thinking. It has helped me to be here. You love football and enjoy playing for a club like this.”

When discussing what makes Anfield a unique and often intimidating venue for opponents, Alonso noted:

“Many have experienced it, recently for the worse and not so long ago for the better. Those moments in the game when there seems to be a force… they are very experienced players who know how to respond well in heated environments.

“It’s the players who have to play, and I can’t do it from the bench.

Alonso reminisced about his memorable moments, particularly his notorious penalty for Liverpool during the legendary UCL final against AC Milan in Istanbul – the one he failed to convert before netting the rebound to equalize at 3-3, setting the stage for the Reds’ triumph.

“In the previous league match, Gerrard took a penalty and missed. The week after, we were in the final, and Rafa (Benítez) appointed me as the designated penalty taker, or Kewell. However, when the moment arrived, Kewell was unavailable,” Alonso recalled.

“I took the shot, missed it, but managed to score on the follow-up. That moment altered the course of history.”
