Liverpool is currently considering a move to acquire a ‘young Sadio Mane’ for £34m, as he resembles Diomande – a perspective worth noting.

Forget about Yan Diomande; Liverpool has the opportunity to sign a ‘crazy fast’ talent instead. Here’s why Liverpool should pursue the new Sadio Mane after missing out on Diomande.

It’s time to close the chapter on the Yan Diomande transfer saga, as Liverpool has lost out to Paris Saint-Germain for the £116m-rated Leipzig winger, who seems to have leveraged interest from Anfield to secure a transfer to the French capital.

While a deal is not finalized, the 19-year-old, currently competing with Ivory Coast at the World Cup, has clearly indicated his preference, and it appears he will join Luis Enrique’s star-studded team by the end of the summer.

This is a setback for a Liverpool team in transition, having replaced a struggling Arne Slot with Andoni Iraola at the beginning of June, and now aiming to regain their title-challenging form.

However, the show must go on, and Liverpool is exploring various alternatives.

Liverpool poised to pursue Diomande alternative.

Liverpool has several options lined up. Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola has been a long-term target for Anfield, and discussions for the Les Bleus winger are expected to resume in the coming weeks.

The club’s options remain open, with numerous avenues to be explored by technical director Richard Hughes. With Mohamed Salah’s contract on Merseyside nearing its official end, it is crucial for the Reds to secure a suitable replacement on the right flank.

They may have identified such a player.

According to TEAMtalk, Hughes is now considering a move for Hoffenheim winger Bazamanou Toure this summer, viewed as a more budget-friendly option to bolster Iraola’s squad.

Priced at £34m, there is a strong argument for Liverpool to pursue this path. While Toure may lack experience on the big stage, he possesses the potential to evolve into a superstar in the Premier League.

Toure, at just 20 years old, has recently made his mark in the Bundesliga, showcasing undeniable world-class potential. Although his reputation may not yet rival that of his compatriot Diomande, Liverpool could secure a clever acquisition by integrating him into Iraola’s squad.

Why Toure Could Be Liverpool’s Mini Diomande

Despite being only 20, Toure has already made significant strides in Germany. Scout Jacek Kulig has praised him as an “explosive winger,” and there are certainly similarities to Diomande in the Ivory Coast international’s playstyle. He could prove to be an excellent addition to a Liverpool attack that is beginning to look quite formidable.

While Toure’s goal-scoring record in the Bundesliga last season was not as remarkable as Diomande’s—who also holds a higher position in the national team hierarchy—this does not preclude his potential to evolve into a true superstar.

Interestingly, Toure has primarily played on the left side in the Bundesliga, but his right-footedness indicates that Iraola might convert him into a right winger, allowing him to cut inside and pose a significant goal-scoring threat.

Although he netted only five goals in the Bundesliga last season, the Ivorian missed just three significant chances, providing Liverpool’s new head coach with a solid foundation to build upon.

Reporter Bence Bocsak has even likened Toure to a “young Sadio Mane,” noting his directness and threat when advancing with the ball. If he can improve his statistics, Liverpool may very well secure a future superstar.

While Toure may not be as advanced in his development as Diomande, he remains one of the most promising young wingers in Europe.

With Liverpool having already brought Munoz into the fold, this signing could be a savvy move—exactly the type of strategic acquisition that FSG favors. Such a signing could propel Liverpool back to the pinnacle of football.
