Jeremie Frimpong has officially joined Liverpool, with contract details now disclosed.

The club is in ‘advanced negotiations’ to acquire the ‘lethal’ player, who is faster than Mo Salah.

Liverpool has intensified their efforts to secure Frimpong, as two independent sources report.

Meanwhile, Arne Slot has been advised to find another right-back to succeed the departing Trent Alexander-Arnold, who announced last week his decision to leave Liverpool at the season’s end.

Despite the Premier League champions reportedly offering Alexander-Arnold a more lucrative deal than Real Madrid, he has chosen to leave his childhood club for Spain.

Although Conor Bradley has shown promise as a right-back, Liverpool recognizes his youth at just 21 years old and his ongoing development.

The Reds are seeking a more seasoned and established replacement for Alexander-Arnold, and they view Frimpong as an excellent addition for the summer transfer window.

TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent, Fraser Fletcher, noted on March 27 that Frimpong is on Liverpool’s shortlist as a potential successor to Alexander-Arnold.

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has confirmed that Liverpool is in ‘advanced talks’ to sign the 24-year-old right-back from Bayer Leverkusen and the Netherlands national team.

Plettenberg stated on X: ‘Liverpool is seriously pursuing Jeremie Frimpong. Advanced discussions have already occurred.

After thorough analysis and considering his availability, he is currently one of the top candidates for LFC to potentially replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Frimpong intends to make a move this summer. The 24-year-old right wing-back can depart Leverkusen this summer due to a release clause estimated at around €35–40 million.’

Frimpong has been praised as ‘amazing’ and ‘lethal’ by his Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman, having scored five goals and provided 12 assists in 48 matches this season, primarily playing as a right wing-back.

Liverpool insider DAVEOCKOP has disclosed that the representative of the Dutch player intends to engage in discussions with Liverpool on Monday after arriving in the UK.

The report indicates that ‘Liverpool’s interest in Jeremie Frimpong has intensified, with his agent returning to the UK for initial talks with the club’s management,’ and mentions that ‘discussions are scheduled for today.’

The insider also highlighted that Frimpong’s contract includes a release clause of £29.6 million and noted that his speed of 33.7 km/h surpasses that of Mohamed Salah, who clocks in at 32.8 km/h.

Frimpong’s agent, Jeffery Lemmert, has shared a post on Instagram that implies negotiations are indeed underway.

Meanwhile, as Liverpool continues to pursue Frimpong, Alan Shearer has recommended that the club consider an Inter Milan player as a potential replacement for Alexander-Arnold.

The Newcastle United legend has been highly impressed with Denzel Dumfries and believes that Liverpool manager Slot could effectively utilize his Dutch counterpart.

Shearer remarked: ‘Even though Denzel Dumfries operates in a completely different system at Inter Milan, there’s no denying that he has excelled in that setup.

His energy has been remarkable, and what stands out to me is his effectiveness in attacking positions. He scored a couple of goals and provided an assist in the [Champions League] semi-finals.

While his defensive capabilities may raise questions, he is undoubtedly a very strong offensive player. Arne Slot, being a fellow Dutchman, will have a deeper understanding of him.

Joining Liverpool could be a viable option for Dumfries, but he also has the opportunity to compete for the Champions League and the league title, placing him in a favorable situation.’
