Liverpool has initiated discussions to sign Rayan Cherki from Lyon, following their earlier talks for Rodrygo and Jeremie Frimpong.

With the Premier League title secured early, Liverpool is strategically planning their transfers with greater confidence than their competitors, such as Chelsea, who remain uncertain about their European participation next season.

Reports indicate that Liverpool is in advanced negotiations to acquire both Rodrygo from Real Madrid and Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.

Additionally, according to Le Parisien, Liverpool has reached out to Lyon regarding Cherki, as Richard Hughes, the Director of Football, seeks to enhance the attacking lineup for coach Arne Slot.

Lyon has reportedly informed Cherki that he can depart if a bid of €22.5m (£19m) is presented, a relatively modest fee considering his talent, largely due to the fact that he has only a year remaining on his contract.

The report also mentions interest from Tottenham and Manchester City in the young player, who has recorded 12 goals and 19 assists in 43 matches this season.

Arsenal has also shown interest after scouting Cherki in Lyon, where they were impressed by his performance.

The Gunners are looking to bolster their attack following injuries to key players Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus, which has forced Mikel Arteta to utilize midfielder Mikel Merino in a forward role.

Consequently, Liverpool faces a challenging task to secure Cherki’s signing this summer, as multiple elite clubs are pursuing him.
