Liverpool vs Chelsea : Confirmed lineup, team news, injury latest for Premier League game today as Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones decisions made…
Liverpool’s line-up considerations for the Chelsea match as decisions on Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones are finalized.
Liverpool is set to resume their Premier League campaign on Sunday, welcoming Chelsea to Anfield as they aim to capitalize on their promising start to the season.
Before the international break, Arne Slot’s team secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace away from home. Chelsea, currently positioned sixth, faced a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest in their last outing.
In anticipation of the match, our analysts Paul Gorst and Ian Doyle have selected their ideal starting elevens for this always intense fixture.
Paul Gorst
The fitness of Alexis Mac Allister will be crucial today. The Argentine midfielder has provided mixed signals recently, having been substituted at halftime during the 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace prior to the international break.
After traveling to Miami to join his national team, Mac Allister sat out the first match but played 66 minutes against Bolivia. However, he missed Friday’s training session at the AXA Centre, opting to follow a personal training regimen in the gym.
Remaining optimistic, I believe his absence from training was merely a precaution, and I expect him to be fit for today’s match. Therefore, I have him starting alongside the in-form Ryan Gravenberch. Caoimhin Kelleher will take Alisson Becker’s place, while Andy Robertson replaces Kostas Tsimikas at left-back.
In the attacking line, Luis Diaz returns in place of Cody Gakpo, but I am choosing to start Diogo Jota over Darwin Nunez.
My selection: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Jota.

With the Premier League returning, Liverpool faces a busy schedule ahead.
Concerns regarding the fitness of several players present key decisions for Arne Slot as they prepare to face Chelsea.
What strategy should the Reds’ manager adopt?
Caoimhin Kelleher steps in as the goalkeeper with Alisson Becker unavailable, while Andy Robertson takes over from Kostas Tsimikas at left-back.
The rest of the defense remains unchanged, featuring captain Virgil van Dijk alongside Ibrahima Konate, with Trent Alexander-Arnold positioned at right-back.
In the midfield, it is prudent not to risk Alexis Mac Allister, so Curtis Jones will partner Ryan Gravenberch in a deeper role, with Dominik Szoboszlai returning to play as the number 10.
In the attacking lineup, Mohamed Salah retains his position on the right, but there are adjustments in other areas. Darwin Nunez will lead the line centrally, with Luis Diaz making his return on the left flank.
My lineup: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Nunez.
