Newcastle United is gearing up to make a €60 million offer for Lille forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo, as reported by transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

After an initial bid of €45 million was turned down, the Magpies are now looking to strengthen their position with a much more competitive offer.

The Belgian international has been pinpointed as Newcastle’s primary attacking target to enhance Matthias Jaissle’s offensive options.

The club is optimistic that this new proposal will close the valuation gap and convince Lille chairman Olivier Letang to allow Fernandez-Pardo to leave following an impressive 2025/26 season.

Lille has been hesitant to part with one of their key young players so late in the transfer window without having a replacement ready.

Nevertheless, the opportunity for a substantial financial gain on a player who joined in 2024 may be too appealing to decline.

Fernandez-Pardo has expressed his interest in pursuing a new challenge outside of France, and it is anticipated that personal terms will not pose a problem once an agreement is reached between clubs.

He was absent from Lille’s Ligue 1 opener against Angers due to suspension, leaving his future uncertain.
