‘Never’: – Beckham points out that there is an attacker at Arsenal who can do things he couldn’t…
David Beckham acknowledges that Arsenal possesses an attacker who excels in ways he could not.
Beckham admits that there is an Arsenal player who excels in ways he was unable to.
Arsenal has begun the season strongly, currently just one point behind Liverpool at the top of the league standings.
Mikel Arteta’s team is aiming for success in the Premier League after two commendable seasons.
However, the last two international breaks have brought some injury challenges for the Gunners.
During the first international break, Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard sustained an ankle injury.
The most recent international window has raised additional concerns, with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli experiencing injury scares.
David Beckham is particularly impressed by Bukayo Saka’s skills.
The potential loss of Saka due to injury could be a significant setback for Arsenal as they prepare to resume league action this weekend.
With a demanding schedule ahead, losing a player of Saka’s caliber could pose a serious challenge for Arteta’s squad.
In a discussion on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, Beckham expressed his admiration for Saka’s ability to take on defenders.
“The game has evolved so much. I find myself as a former player urging the team to get the ball out to the wing and deliver crosses. That’s what I often shout at the TV,” Beckham remarked.
“There are moments in matches that call for that approach. My coach used to tell me to stay wide and wait for the opportunity to take on a defender. I was never the type to run at players like Bukayo does.”
Arsenal may face challenges in the absence of Bukayo Saka. The England international returned to London Colney during the international break with a potential injury following the loss to Greece.
This situation arises after an impressive start to the season for the winger, who has already contributed three goals and ten assists in his ten appearances.
One of Saka’s key strengths is his ability to take on defenders, averaging 4.63 progressive carries per 90 minutes.
While Arsenal now has Raheem Sterling available, the loss of Saka would represent a considerable setback for Arteta’s attacking strategy.
