Ben Jacobs reports that Leeds United has been presented with the opportunity to sign Rafael Leao, a winger regarded as ‘one of the best’ in the world, who has recorded 80 goals and 65 assists for AC Milan.

Despite this offer, the financial implications suggest that Leeds may struggle to finalize a deal.

Leao has also been made available to numerous clubs in England and throughout Europe, indicating that his tenure in Italy may be coming to a close.

“Rafa Leao was indeed offered to Leeds United, as well as to Manchester United and Arsenal,” Jacobs stated recently on talkSPORT.

“Given the scale of the deal, the financial considerations, and the overall interest, it seems unlikely that progress will be made. Currently, I anticipate that Leao could end up in Turkey.

“Leao’s agency reached out to several Premier League teams, and Leeds was among those contacted.”

The adaptable forward is celebrated as one of the top wingers globally, boasting an impressive tally of 80 goals and 65 assists over the past seven seasons since joining Milan.

Leeds has already secured Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo for £34 million, and Harry Wilson has arrived from Fulham on a free transfer.

Manager Daniel Farke was disappointed to miss out on German forward Julian Brandt, who had discussions at Thorp Arch last month with his agent and father.

The former Borussia Dortmund player has signed with Ajax as a free agent, prompting Leeds to explore other options to enhance their attacking lineup.
