Leeds United plot brutal £6m Leicester City transfer swoop…

Leeds United are planning a significant £6m transfer move for Leicester City.

This summer, Leeds United may find themselves in a position to take advantage of Leicester City by acquiring talented young player Jeremy Monga.

In recent months, United have had to put any transfer strategies on hold, as their operations were entirely dependent on maintaining their Premier League status.

Now that this goal has been achieved, the 49ers can begin to develop plans to target specific players when the summer transfer window opens on June 15th.

Leeds United enter the competition to acquire Leicester City’s Jeremy Monga following their relegation to League One.

In the EFL, there isn’t a significant amount of talent that would drastically enhance United’s current roster.

Nevertheless, Leicester City’s distinct circumstances provide an opportunity for a budget-friendly acquisition. According to TalkSPORT, Leeds is among several Premier League clubs interested in signing 16-year-old winger Jeremy Monga.

The young player made his debut for the Foxes at an impressively early age, stepping onto the pitch in April 2025 just before what became a disappointing 25/26 season at the King Power Stadium.

With Leicester heading to League One next season, Monga has attracted interest from multiple clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle United.

Monga cannot sign professional terms until he turns 17 on July 10th. As a result, clubs may be able to secure his services for a ‘bargain’ price – the Mirror (via Leicester Mercury) suggests he could be available for just £6 million.

Leeds United could deliver another harsh blow to Leicester City with their pursuit of Jeremy Monga.

After Leicester secured promotion over Leeds in 2024 – having allegedly cheated their way to the title – Leeds became the target of ridicule.

It’s no surprise; we are the team everyone wants to beat in the Championship. However, since that season concluded, everything has dramatically unraveled for the Foxes.

They have experienced consecutive relegations, lost all affection for the players who helped them gain promotion, and are now set to lose every valuable asset in their squad.

Monga is almost certainly on his way out. If Leeds manages to sign him for a low fee, it would be the ultimate irony, as we relish our elevated status two divisions above them.
