Leeds is considering a move for the highly sought-after striker who has scored twice as many goals as Calvert-Lewin.

Leeds United has joined the competition for Swansea City striker Zan Vipotnik, who may be permitted to leave the Welsh club despite having signed a long-term contract.

The Whites are eager to enhance their attacking options, even after significantly bolstering their center-forward position last summer with the acquisitions of Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The latter has played a crucial role in their efforts to avoid relegation.

The 29-year-old has netted ten goals in the Premier League, which earned him a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s latest England squad. Daniel Farke has expressed satisfaction with the performance of the former Everton player as well.

Farke commented: “It’s his responsibility to score goals, but I will always support him in that role. I wasn’t surprised by his recent form because I consider him one of the top strikers in this league, and he demonstrates that quality consistently in nearly every match.”

Despite the Englishman’s impressive goal-scoring, Farke’s team is still in a precarious position in the relegation battle, sitting just four points above the drop zone with seven matches remaining.

Leeds is considering a move for Vipotnik.

Consequently, Leeds may need to acquire additional attacking talent this summer, and they are strategizing a move for Swansea’s Vipotnik, who has scored 22 goals across all competitions, which is double the tally of Calvert-Lewin, who has found the net 11 times.

This information comes from a report by TEAMtalk, which indicates that numerous clubs may be vying for the 24-year-old’s signature, including Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Everton, Brentford, and West Ham United, all of whom are reportedly monitoring the situation.

Swansea may sell Vipotnik even after signing a long-term contract.

The Slovenian player has officially signed a new contract, which theoretically secures his position in Wales until 2030. However, the report indicates that Swansea might still opt to sell him, as the new agreement does not necessarily guarantee a prolonged stay.

Manager Vitor Matos could face challenges in finding a replacement for the Championship’s leading scorer, whom he praised highly following an impressive free-kick goal against Sheffield Wednesday in February. He remarked: “As I mentioned after the match, he’s exceptional; he knows how to score, and that was another example of his talent, executed very well.

“I’m really happy for him and for us; it was a pleasure to witness it from the bench. I hope he continues to perform at this level.”
