49ers are serious: Leeds engage in face-to-face discussions at Elland Road to acquire a trio of Premier League players.

Following their victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, Leeds United promptly initiated in-person negotiations to secure three additional stars from Molineux, including Ladislav Krejci.

Latest on Krejci to Leeds

As if leaving Rob Edwards’ team teetering on the edge of relegation after a 3-0 defeat wasn’t sufficient, Leeds is now poised to capitalize on Wolves’ impending downfall.

Fresh from Saturday’s match, the 49ers reportedly engaged in talks with the Midlands club regarding several players, with Krejci appearing to be the top priority.

The 27-year-old has shown flashes of brilliance during his inaugural season in the Premier League, even as Wolves have struggled at the bottom of the standings, and he may have the opportunity to remain in the top tier as a result.

A pursuit for an additional centre-back wouldn’t be surprising at Elland Road. Since Daniel Farke transitioned his strategy to a back five with notable success, he has required more depth in that area.

With Wolves facing relegation, Krejci could quickly turn into a cost-effective option in a summer that may be filled with reinforcements, as Leeds aim to advance following their near-certain survival.

The statistics indicate that there is still work to be done for the Wolves defender, but it is undeniable that his situation at the bottom of the league has not aided his prospects.

He remains a player to keep an eye on this summer, and he is not alone. In addition to the centre-back, Leeds have also engaged in discussions to sign three other stars from Wolves.

Leeds engage in discussions to acquire Wolves trio

As reported by TeamTalk, Leeds also held discussions to sign Mateus Mane, Joao Gomes, and Andre immediately following their 3-0 victory over Wolves on Saturday.

The 49ers acted swiftly, taking full advantage of Wolves’ presence at Elland Road. They will hope that the urgency of their in-person talks positions them favorably to execute a remarkable acquisition.

All three stars would make fantastic additions. Mane has burst onto the scene in the Midlands this season and is among the most thrilling young talents in the Premier League at just 18 years old.

Gomes and Andre, on the other hand, possess the ability to dominate any opponent in England when they are paired in midfield. This is why Wolves’ unexpected decline has surprised many this season.

“I believe he’s a remarkable player and has displayed real flashes of brilliance and a lot of positive contributions since we arrived as well.

“However, I think it has been difficult for him because in a team that has faced challenges at times or if the results haven’t gone their way, it can be tough.” (Edwards on Gomes)

Leeds won’t be the only team vying for the Wolves trio this summer, but they have certainly made progress by initiating talks with the Midlands club so early.
