David Ornstein reports that Liverpool is keen to acquire a ‘world-class’ player alongside Frimpong, with Milos Kerkez being their primary target for the left-back position.

Following their recent Premier League victory, Liverpool is now focusing on the upcoming summer transfer window.

Ornstein highlighted that Kerkez, who has excelled at Bournemouth, is at the forefront of their wishlist as manager Arne Slot aims to bolster the squad.

Despite a challenging Champions League exit against Paris Saint-Germain, the season has been commendable, especially with Slot succeeding club icon Jurgen Klopp.

Ornstein mentioned on the Sky Sports Back Pages podcast that acquiring Kerkez may necessitate the departure of either Andy Robertson or more likely Kostas Tsimikas.

He noted that while Kerkez is the top priority, Liverpool will explore other options, which could influence their decisions regarding right-back acquisitions, considering they have Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez available.

At just 21, Kerkez has been a consistent starter for Bournemouth and is seen as a potential long-term successor to Robertson, who has been a key player at Anfield for several years.

Achieving five assists and two goals as a left-back is an impressive record.

Considering that Liverpool has maintained nearly 10 percent more possession than Bournemouth this season, these statistics are expected to rise if he transfers to Anfield.

This move appears increasingly likely due to Robertson’s recent dip in performance and Tsimikas’ limited involvement at Liverpool.
