Liverpool ‘agree personal terms’ with World Cup star in genius move…

Liverpool has reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with an England World Cup player in a clever move.

Andoni Iraola may soon announce the first signing of his tenure at Liverpool.

The club is said to have settled on terms to acquire a member of England’s World Cup squad for a fee of £55 million.

While many of Europe’s top talents are currently in North America for the World Cup, Premier League teams are actively pursuing potential transfers ahead of the window opening on June 15.

The arrival of new Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola has coincided with the Reds being linked to several players from Bournemouth, including Alex Scott, Eli Junior Kroupi, Adrien Truffert, and Rayan.

At the same time, there are rumors of several players leaving Anfield, with the futures of Federico Chiesa and Curtis Jones both uncertain.

Confirmed departures include Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson, while Ibrahima Konate is also set to leave, with the French defender joining Real Madrid.

This situation creates a gap in Liverpool’s defense, although 20-year-old Jeremy Jacquet has already agreed to join the Premier League club. Another defender, Giovanni Leoni, is in recovery from an ACL injury.

According to a report from the ECHO, England center-back Jarell Quansah has agreed on personal terms for a return to Liverpool.

Quansah, who developed at the Merseyside club, transferred to Bayer Leverkusen in 2025 in search of more first-team opportunities in Germany, with Liverpool receiving a £35 million fee for his transfer.

The ECHO indicates that the Reds included a buy-back clause in the agreement, allowing them to re-sign the defender for £55 million.

The report states that Quansah has already consented to his part of the arrangement, although it is still uncertain if Liverpool will activate their buy-back option.

Last season, Quansah made 44 appearances for Leverkusen, netting five goals. He is contracted with the German club until 2030.

“Honestly, I wouldn’t classify it as a tough decision because my main desire was to play,” he stated.

“I believed I had the capability to compete at the highest level. The Bundesliga is an elite league, and the chance to participate in the Champions League and significant matches was an incredible opportunity.

“I think it often comes down to intuition. At times, overthinking and listening to too many opinions can cloud your judgment, to be honest, as you might hear various things and be swayed.”
