Liverpool is making significant progress towards securing Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez, as reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Premier League champions are preparing for another round of discussions between clubs regarding the Hungarian international’s transfer to Anfield, with only a few ‘minor details’ remaining to finalize before the deal is officially confirmed.

This week, Liverpool re-engaged with Bournemouth regarding Kerkez and are anticipated to continue negotiations to secure him as their second full-back signing this summer.

Last week, the Reds announced the signing of Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, who joined on a five-year contract to succeed Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool Interested in Milos Kerkez Transfer

Romano, during a segment on his YouTube channel, stated that Kerkez will officially join Liverpool once the final ‘minor details’ are settled in the club-to-club negotiations:

“I stand by my statement, Milos Kerkez will be a Liverpool player. There are just a few minor details to sort out with Bournemouth, but I remain confident. I foresee Milos Kerkez moving to Liverpool this summer.

“They still need to finalize these details. This is why we haven’t reached a ‘here we go’ yet, but it’s on the horizon. I’ve mentioned several times that a ‘here we go’ is imminent. It’s coming.

“Because it truly hinges on minor details. Let them handle these, as they have had additional discussions this week.

“One more round of formal talks is required, but this transfer is definitely on track to become a ‘here we go’ for Milos Kerkez to Liverpool.”

Kerkez is expected to join Anfield as a long-term successor to Andy Robertson, who celebrated his 31st birthday in March and has only one year remaining on his contract.

The Hungary international, regarded as ‘world-class’, has become one of the most thrilling young full-backs in the Premier League during his tenure at Bournemouth, and is now poised to yield a significant profit for the Cherries.

The club on the Dorset coast acquired the 21-year-old from AZ in 2023 for approximately £15.5m, while current reports suggest that his transfer to Liverpool could be around £40m.

Additionally, Liverpool is nearing an agreement for Bayer Leverkusen’s star player Florian Wirtz, who is expected to complete his medical at Anfield in the upcoming days.
