How Liverpool might arrange their squad for the upcoming season under Arne Slot, featuring several significant new signings including Florian Wirtz.

The Premier League champions are anticipated to acquire some prominent players before the 2025/26 season.

The astonishing lineup that Liverpool could assemble for next season has been unveiled, and it has the potential to achieve great success.

Prediction for Liverpool’s 2025/26 lineup with Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz included.

Liverpool has made their initial signing of the summer transfer window, bringing in Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen as the Reds aim to defend their Premier League title and compete in European tournaments.

Liverpool is investing significantly to strengthen their squad in preparation for defending the Premier League championship in the 2025/26 season.

Last week, Virgil van Dijk lifted the trophy at Anfield after the Reds secured a 1-1 draw against FA Cup winners Crystal Palace.

While Liverpool celebrated with their supporters before some unfortunate incidents occurred, Arne Slot and Richard Hughes are diligently focused on the transfer market.

On Friday, Jeremie Frimpong officially joined Liverpool, taking the place of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is bound for Real Madrid.

Liverpool activated Frimpong’s $39.2 million (£29.5m) release clause to finalize the transfer; Frimpong netted 30 goals and provided 44 assists in 190 matches for the Bundesliga side.

Frimpong may not be the only player transitioning from Leverkusen to Liverpool amidst ongoing rumors about Florian Wirtz.

Following a busy week, Liverpool seems to be in a prime position to secure the services of the German international.

Wirtz is reportedly eager to make a move to Anfield, while the Reds are engaged in advanced discussions to finalize this high-profile transfer.

The 22-year-old would be a significant addition, and Slot is not stopping there.

Milos Kerkez, the Bournemouth left-back who excelled for the Cherries this season, is another name frequently mentioned.

With the potential addition of Frimpong, Kerkez, and Wirtz to their lineup next season, Liverpool is gearing up to field a powerful XI that could instill fear in their rivals.

Despite Giorgi Mamardashvili’s arrival this summer after a transfer finalized last year, Alisson Becker should certainly continue as the primary goalkeeper.

The Georgian international will likely have to accept a spot on the bench during his first year at Anfield, with Alisson holding onto the starting position.

On the other hand, the back four is set for some changes. Frimpong will compete with Conor Bradley for the right-back spot, a rivalry that could aid the Northern Ireland international as he focuses on improving his fitness.

Kerkez is anticipated to take over the left-back position, stepping in for Andy Robertson.

Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate will maintain their roles in central defense, leaving Slot with another dilemma in midfield.

Wirtz appears to be the frontrunner for the No. 10 position, which Dominik Szoboszlai often occupied last season.

The German is expected to be a consistent starter, potentially pushing Szoboszlai into a rotational role. Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch certainly deserve to be in the mix.

Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo provide attacking options from both flanks, leaving the No. 9 position still to be decided.

At present, Luis Diaz or Diogo Jota are the likely candidates, with Darwin Nunez anticipated to make a move this summer.

However, if the budget permits, Liverpool should consider acquiring a new striker.

Although a pursuit of Alexander Isak may be too expensive, especially with Newcastle competing in the Champions League next season, a former Manchester City player could be a suitable alternative.

Julian Alvarez might be on the market. The Atletico Madrid forward, who netted 29 goals last season, appears to be a more attainable target than Isak, particularly if a swap deal involving Nunez can be arranged.

If Alvarez joins the Reds, the potential line-up for the upcoming season will surely excite fans.

Liverpool’s possible 2025/26 line-up could be: Alisson; Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Alvarez.
