‘Deal confirmed’ – Fabrizio Romano has given Liverpool’s transfer the ‘here we go’ treatment.

Fabrizio Romano has applied his signature ‘here we go’ phrase to Liverpool’s initial transfer of the summer.

A pursuit for Jeremie Frimpong gained significant traction in recent days before being effectively validated by the Italian journalist on Friday evening, and Ben Jacobs reported last night that the Dutch right-back has successfully completed his medical on Merseyside.

Now, only the final formalities of the deal remain to be finalized before the transaction is officially acknowledged by the Premier League champions, and it appears that a formal announcement could be made as soon as tomorrow.

Romano gives ‘here we go’ to Frimpong transfer

On Tuesday morning, Romano updated his followers on X regarding Liverpool’s acquisition of Frimpong, with the 24-year-old anticipated to sign at Anfield by Wednesday lunchtime.

The transfer expert tweeted: ‘Jeremie Frimpong will sign his contract at Liverpool in the next 24 hours, deal confirmed. The Dutch RB has completed the first and second parts of his medical, with formal steps and announcement to follow. Here we go, confirmed.’

Frimpong deal gives Liverpool further cause for celebration

Reports indicate that the transfer will cost the Reds just under £30m, which is an impressively low release clause for a player who has already demonstrated his capabilities at a high level in Europe and is just now entering what should be his prime footballing years.

If the deal is officially announced before the match against Crystal Palace on Sunday, it will give Kopites additional reason to celebrate on the day that Arne Slot’s squad will receive the Premier League trophy.

Richard Hughes deserves significant recognition for his swift action in securing Frimpong before the summer transfer window opens on 1 June, with the Liverpool sporting director making a strong early statement of intent.

He can now focus on the current effort to acquire Florian Wirtz, the teammate of the Dutchman.

This acquisition would be significantly more costly and complex to finalize, yet it would be an outstanding achievement if successful.

The strategy to establish the Reds as the leading power in English football in the coming months is already in progress!
