Arsenal have completed a deal to acquire a ‘fantastic’ winger ahead of Manchester United, according to reports.

As reported by TalkSPORT, Arsenal has agreed on a transfer fee for Leicester City winger Jeremy Monga, outpacing Manchester United in the process.

The Gunners have shown a sustained interest in Monga from the Foxes, and it seems they have finally reached an agreement with the club from the east Midlands.

TalkSPORT indicates that Arsenal has settled on a transfer fee of £10 million for Monga, who will be eligible to sign a professional contract upon turning 17 on July 10.

Mikel Arteta’s team has outmaneuvered eight clubs, both domestically and internationally, to secure the talented winger, including Manchester United, RB Leipzig, and Bayer Leverkusen.

Significant potential

Monga made his debut with the Foxes as a 15-year-old during the 2024/25 Premier League season, becoming the league’s second-youngest debutant after Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri when he came on as a substitute against Newcastle United.

The young player, primarily a left-sided winger, showcased his dribbling skills and movement in the attacking third, and he made history as the youngest-ever scorer in the Championship against Preston North End last August.

Although he had limited exposure with under 1,000 minutes of play, he made an impression with his brief appearances, finishing the season with two additional assists for the Foxes, who faced their second consecutive relegation to League One.

Now, at 16 years old, Monga has opted to continue his development with the Gunners. The Telegraph recently reported that he will join the Gunners for pre-season, with a decision regarding a potential loan to be made afterward.

Previously praised as a ‘fantastic‘ talent by manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, Monga is seen as a player with immense potential. If he fulfills this promise, he could become a vital asset for the Gunners on the left wing in the coming years.

Additionally, Arsenal is anticipated to seek senior players to strengthen the left wing this summer, with the possibility that Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, both in the final year of their contracts, may be sold.
