Arsenal is nearing its first summer signing, with a transfer agreement expected to be finalized soon.

The Gunners are anticipated to secure their attacking target after several weeks of negotiations.

The club is optimistic about finalizing the acquisition of Leicester’s young talent, Jeremy Monga.

The two clubs have been engaged in extensive discussions regarding a fee for the 16-year-old, which could potentially lead to a tribunal.

Nevertheless, advancements have been made, and Arsenal is likely to achieve a complete agreement to bring Monga to north London.

While the deal has not yet been finalized, it is expected that a transaction exceeding £10 million will soon be concluded for the winger.

There have been no issues regarding personal terms, and Monga will be eligible to sign a professional contract upon turning 17 on July 10.

The young player is expected to join Arsenal for pre-season training, where manager Mikel Arteta will evaluate him before determining the best path for his development.

As Arsenal aims to enhance their forward options with a high-profile signing like Morgan Rogers, Monga may face limited first-team opportunities, making a loan move a possibility.

Arsenal continues to pursue some of the most promising talents from England and Europe, and Monga certainly fits that profile.

Leicester has had to accept, albeit reluctantly, that Monga will depart the club this summer to help alleviate their financial situation following relegation to League One.

Monga made his Premier League debut for the Foxes under Ruud van Nistelrooy at just 15 years and 271 days old in April 2025.

This achievement places him third on the list of the youngest players to ever participate in the competition, trailing only Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman.

Last season, Monga appeared in 27 Championship matches for Leicester, and he scored his first goal for the club against Preston last August, making him the youngest-ever scorer for the Foxes.
