Arsenal facing rare rejection with 17-year-old sensation star ready to choose Liverpool

Liverpool has made a contract proposal to 17-year-old midfield prodigy Andria Bartishvili in an effort to outmaneuver Arsenal for his signature, according to reports.

In recent years, Liverpool has been proactive in strengthening their squad for the future, securing several impressive U21 talents. They signed the dynamic winger Rio Ngumoha from Chelsea rivals in the summer of 2024, and he is already making a significant impact on the first team.

In January, Liverpool reached an agreement to acquire the promising center-back Ifeanyi Ndukwe from Austria Vienna, and they have also recently added Scotland U16 captain Dara Jikiemi from Celtic.

Bartishvili is the latest exciting young player attracting the attention of Liverpool’s owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG).

Having previously been part of the Dinamo Tbilisi academy, Bartishvili is currently on loan at Iberia from fellow Georgian club Kolkheti Poti.

He is a versatile, two-footed central attacking midfielder who can also operate as a winger on either side. Despite his young age, Bartishvili is already making headlines in Georgia and is regarded as the country’s top talent since Paris Saint-Germain’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

According to Liverpool site DaveOCKOP, which references Georgian outlet Geo Team, both Liverpool and Arsenal have dispatched scouts to observe the teenager in action.

These scouts witnessed Bartishvili excel as Iberia triumphed over Estonian side FC Flora with a score of 3-2 in the first round of Champions League qualifying.

The report states, ‘Both clubs have prepared identical contracts for the 17-year-old talent.’

The decision now rests with Bartishvili and his family.

This isn’t the first instance of the wonderkid being linked to a significant move to the Premier League.

On June 22, it was reported that Liverpool, Arsenal, and Paris FC are ‘working on deals’ for him, with the player and his representatives expected to make a decision after the Champions League qualification process concludes.

Paris FC aims to secure Bartishvili by promising him immediate first-team opportunities. However, it is uncertain if the appeal of the Premier League will enable Liverpool or Arsenal to succeed.

Liverpool is evidently focusing on senior acquisitions in addition to their rumored interest in the young prospect.

We can share the most recent updates on key winger target Bradley Barcola, who is a likely candidate to depart from PSG.
