Newcastle United is in discussions to sign Anis Hadj Moussa, who is the first request of Matthias Jaissle, while Sunderland has already made an inquiry.

Newcastle United is eager to acquire Anis Hadj Moussa, and Feyenoord is prepared to facilitate his departure this summer. Sunderland approached the player last month, but that effort has yet to yield results.

Since joining the Dutch club in 2024, the winger has had a successful stint, scoring 25 goals and providing 12 assists in 83 appearances, including 14 goals and seven assists last season.

His impressive performances have drawn the attention of several English clubs, notably Newcastle United.

On July 3rd, Moussa’s agent, Mohamed Dahman, expressed his client’s ambition to move.

He stated: “Anis Hadj Moussa will play for another team, God willing.”

Later that month, Sport Witness reported on Sunderland’s initial attempt to sign the Algerian international. The Eredivisie club is open to a sale and has set a price of €37m.

Newcastle United’s interest

With Eddie Howe departing St James’ Park, the Premier League club is close to appointing Matthias Jaissle as his replacement.

The German coach, who is moving from Al-Ahli, had previously expressed interest in signing Anis Hadj Moussa for the Saudi club.

Journalist Dennis Kranenburg mentioned to RTV Rijnmond that Newcastle United is pursuing the player, and Feyenoord Pings has shared his insights.

“Newcastle United is keen on Hadj Moussa. Their new coach had previously attempted to bring him to Saudi Arabia, indicating he is a strong admirer of Hadj Moussa. If the right offer is made, I can’t see him remaining,” he remarked.

New manager spearheading Newcastle United’s efforts

Fennec Football also reports that Matthias Jaissle had pinpointed Anis Hadj Moussa as a key target for Al-Ahli.

His upcoming transition to England will alter the dynamics, as the new Newcastle United manager has made it a priority to sign the Feyenoord star.

The 38-year-old believes the Algerian’s skills would be a great fit for the English club. The player aspires to play in the Premier League, and Feyenoord aims to secure the best possible fee.

Fennec Football reports that discussions regarding Newcastle United are still in progress.

The arrival of Jaissle is crucial for the Magpies to secure his signing. Newcastle United is in a strong position, and with all involved parties supportive of the transfer, further developments may occur shortly.
