Arsenal agree to club request with €80m player transfer now on…
Arsenal has accepted a club’s request, leading to the completion of an €80m player transfer.
Arsenal have consented to Lille’s request, paving the way for an €80m transfer of Ayyoub Bouaddi.
The Gunners have reached a compromise in their pursuit of Bouaddi, and with Lille’s demands now satisfied, the transfer can move forward, as reported.
At just 18 years old, Bouaddi has already established himself as a significant presence in midfield for both his club and national team. He has been a consistent starter for Lille in Ligue 1 for the past 18 months and is receiving high praise for his impressive performances for Morocco during the World Cup.
As a result, interest in acquiring the midfield talent from Lille is understandably high.
While PSG and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on him, Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United are all eager to bring Bouaddi to the Premier League.
A recent update from Ben Jacobs indicated that Lille has two different transfer fee structures based on the type of agreement they can reach with a purchasing club.
If they sell the player immediately, Lille is seeking a substantial €100m / £86m. However, they would prefer to sell Bouaddi now and then loan him back, allowing him to spend another season with them while they compete in the Champions League.
Since this second option is less favorable for the buying club, Lille is willing to negotiate a lower fee of approximately €75m-€80m / £64m-£68.5m, according to Jacobs.
Now, our colleagues at TEAMtalk have reported that three of the English clubs interested in Bouaddi, including Arsenal, are ready to accept the loan-back arrangement to gain an advantage in negotiations.
Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea are all willing to comply with Lille’s request by signing Bouaddi for the reduced fee and loaning him back for the 2026/27 season.
Bailey stated: ‘I can exclusively disclose that Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea have all eased their positions and are now willing to consider a loan-back arrangement if it provides them with an advantage in the competition to secure one of Europe’s top teenage talents.
‘Initially, all three Premier League powerhouses were eager to incorporate Bouaddi into their first-team setups as soon as possible.
‘However, sources indicate that they are increasingly aware that complying with Lille’s request could be crucial in clinching his signature.’
Bailey also mentioned that Liverpool and Manchester United are not as enthusiastic about the prospect of acquiring a player for a substantial fee while being unable to utilize his talents for a year.
Consequently, these two clubs are likely to withdraw from the competition, leaving Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City as the primary contenders from England.
