“I must mention Leeds” – A Manchester United icon predicts Leeds United’s relegation.

Leeds United have positioned themselves well to remain in the Premier League for the next season, with only seven matches left to play.

Despite facing a challenging match at Old Trafford next, Daniel Farke’s squad has several manageable home fixtures that could provide the necessary points to avoid relegation, especially if they secure victories against Wolves and Burnley, with any additional draws away from home being a beneficial bonus.

Currently, Leeds holds a four-point lead over 18th-placed West Ham, who also face a crucial relegation match this weekend against Wolves.

Nevertheless, even though the Whites are in 15th place, a former Manchester United player has predicted that Leeds will be relegated.

Teddy Sheringham forecasts Leeds’ descent.

In addition to his time at Man United, Sheringham has also played for West Ham, Tottenham, and Nottingham Forest, all of whom are currently in the relegation struggle alongside Leeds.

In an exclusive interview with BestBettingSites, Sheringham was asked which team he believes will be relegated among West Ham, Spurs, and Forest, to which the ex-England international provided a thought-provoking response.

“I must mention Leeds! They are all my former clubs, so I don’t wish to see any of them relegated. I still have a fondness for all of them. Naturally, Tottenham and West Ham are the teams I would prefer to see remain in the league, so if pressed, I would say Forest — but I still believe Leeds have as good a chance as any of them.

“They are all quite similar. I wouldn’t bet my house on any of them avoiding relegation. At this point, it’s crucial to score goals. Which team has the ability to score more? Currently, none of them are convincing in that area.”

Sheringham added: “With seven matches remaining, you likely need nine points. To achieve that, you might require nine or ten goals. Can any of those teams deliver that? I doubt it. Therefore, whoever fails to score or continues to squander opportunities when they come, is going to come unstuck.”

With Leeds finally breaking their goal drought against Premier League rivals West Ham, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin returning to the scoresheet, this hopefully provides them with the confidence boost necessary for the final stretch of the season.

Opta’s data indicates that West Ham is likely to be relegated.

Even though West Ham has shown signs of improvement recently under Nuno Espirito Santo, Opta’s supercomputer predicts they are the team most likely to be relegated among the four clubs fighting to stay up.

Opta has assigned West Ham a 58.68% probability of relegation.

Spurs are considered the next most likely team to face relegation, with a 26.38% chance.

In contrast, Forest and Leeds have significantly lower chances of going down, at 8.57% and 6.51%, respectively.

If Leeds can secure a victory against Man United, the former team of Sheringham, it would greatly help in disproving their former player’s relegation forecast.

Nonetheless, achieving this will be challenging, and Farke’s squad understands that their upcoming home matches could determine the outcome of their season.
