“He’s going to return” – Bobby Firmino has made a fascinating prediction about Jurgen Klopp

Bobby Firmino has shared an interesting forecast concerning his former Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp.

It has been 18 months since the German concluded his nearly ten-year tenure in the Anfield dugout, stepping away from coaching to take a career break before assuming a new position as Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull.

The 58-year-old managed the Brazilian forward for nearly all of his eight years at Merseyside, and the Al Sadd player believes that his former boss will eventually return to the frontlines of club management.

Firmino is confident Klopp will resume management.

In a conversation with Flashscore, Firmino reminisced fondly about his time under Klopp and has not dismissed the possibility of a return to the dugout for the ex-Liverpool manager.

The 34-year-old stated: “He was the best manager I’ve ever had. The memories I still cherish are remarkable. I’m thankful to have worked with him.

“I learned a great deal from him, and I believe I was able to meet his expectations of me. I think he’s taking a break; I believe he will return to coaching a club. Whether it’s Liverpool, only he can determine.”

Will Klopp accept another position in club management?

Just a few weeks ago, Klopp did not dismiss the chance of returning to Anfield if the opportunity arises in the future, although he admitted that he does not miss the daily grind of being a manager.

When he made the surprising announcement about stepping down from Liverpool in 2024, the German revealed that he was ‘running out of energy’, having been involved in management almost continuously for 23 years.

Firmino understands the 58-year-old better than almost anyone in football – no one has played more matches under him than the Brazilian’s 355 (Transfermarkt) – so for him to assert that our former boss will return to his previous profession suggests that his words should be taken seriously.

We wouldn’t entirely rule out the chance of Klopp returning as a manager, but we believe he would only consider it if he was completely convinced it was the right opportunity for him.

A person with his credentials can dictate his own terms and will not feel pressured to accept any random coaching role.

The German still has a great deal to contribute to any club that might be lucky enough to entice him out of ‘retirement’.

For now, we are pleased that Liverpool has appointed a high-caliber successor in Arne Slot to carry on the outstanding work of his predecessor.
