Arsenal news: £75m target advised to ignore competitors as private conversation with Mikel Arteta is revealed.

Arsenal is set to take on Fulham at Craven Cottage as Mikel Arteta’s team aims to increase their lead at the top of the Premier League table following the international break.

The Gunners are prepared for their journey to Craven Cottage, looking to enhance their Premier League advantage. So far, they have accumulated an impressive 16 points from seven matches.

With the international break concluded, the English top flight resumes, and the league leaders return. Arsenal will face Fulham on Saturday evening, holding a one-point lead at the top of the table before the weekend’s matches.

They aim to strengthen that lead, but will have to do so without captain Martin Odegaard, who is expected to be sidelined for an extended period due to injury.

This article examines the latest news from the Emirates ahead of this match, including an ultimatum regarding Viktor Gyokeres and a costly transfer target being told he is too good for Arsenal’s rivals.

Mikel Arteta’s ultimatum for Viktor Gyokeres.

Arsenal had been in need of a No. 9 for quite some time before this summer, and Arteta’s request was fulfilled when Swedish star Gyokeres joined for £64 million.

However, his experience in north London has not been straightforward.

He has netted three goals in 10 appearances as an Arsenal player, which is not particularly poor, but these statistics are insignificant compared to his average of 35 goals over two seasons in Portugal.

Arteta continues to support his striker but acknowledges that he did present him with an ultimatum upon his arrival.

The Spanish manager stated: “I informed him before our initial meeting that the number nine I desire is one who can cope with not scoring for six or eight games.

“If not, you need to find another place because the pressure will be absent, but the expectations will remain.

Therefore, if you wear the number nine shirt for Arsenal, you must be prepared to accept that you might go six games without scoring.”

Antoine Semenyo stated that he is too talented for Spurs.

Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo has kicked off this season in outstanding form. He has netted six league goals in just seven matches, surpassed only by Erling Haaland. The Cherries currently hold the fourth position in the standings.

Such impressive performances have naturally sparked transfer speculation, with Arsenal emerging as a possible contender. Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking on talkSPORT, believes that not only would the £75m-rated Semenyo be an immediate starter for the Gunners, but he is also far too good for their fierce rivals, Tottenham.

“I look at the league table, and tell me a team that Semenyo wouldn’t start for on that left flank. Name one,” Abonglahor remarked. “He would start for Arsenal if [Eberechi] Eze occupies the number 10 role.

“[He’s] superior to [Gabriel] Martinelli and [Leandro] Trossard. Better than [Cody] Gakpo. He would start for Spurs. But are Spurs a big enough club for him? He aspires to play in the Champions League. He can achieve more than Spurs.”

Gabriel praises Dowman

After returning from international duty with Brazil, center-back Gabriel was asked who he considers the most skillful player in the Arsenal squad.

While several obvious names came to mind, including Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel chose not to select either of these stars.

The defender mentioned Odegaard and Eze, but then added to Sky Sports: “I think Max [Dowman] as well. This guy is phenomenal! I’ve never witnessed anything like him on the field.”

Gabriel is not the only senior player impressed by the young talent Dowman. New signing Cristhian Mosquera recently commented: “I don’t intend to make comparisons, but his style and playing manner resemble that of Lamine Yamal.

“His movements are reminiscent of Lamine. When I learned he was only 15, I was astonished. He truly is an extraordinary player, and I believe he is destined to be world-class.”
