‘What I heard’: Fabrizio Romano has confirmed news regarding Rafael Leao following reports that Liverpool is considering a budget-friendly acquisition.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool’s target Rafael Leao may be available from AC Milan this summer.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Rafael Leao could make a move to Anfield from AC Milan this summer.

As they look for a new winger during the off-season, claims surfaced on Thursday that the Reds are eyeing Leao as a cost-effective addition.

With the Italian media suggesting a potential fee of around £60m, Romano has indicated that the 26-year-old is a player to keep an eye on as the summer transfer window approaches.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Leao could depart from AC Milan.

As Liverpool evaluates potential options in their attacking lineup, Leao would be an ideal, elite player who could integrate seamlessly into the team.

This prospect could be particularly appealing to a Liverpool squad undergoing changes, with the Portugal international providing an upgrade over Arne Slot’s current wide players.

Having established himself as a key player over seven years at Milan, Leao has proven to be one of Europe’s most reliable wingers. However, according to Romano, a new chapter may be on the horizon this summer.

“Rafa Leao has generated many inquiries regarding the AC Milan winger, as he could be one of the prominent names in the summer transfer window,” the journalist stated on his YouTube channel on Friday.

“First, I want to clarify that it has not been an easy season for Leao, particularly in the latter half of the season, but AC Milan is not actively seeking to sell him. He remains a player who is still part of the Milan project.

“However, if a suitable offer arises for both the player and the club, there is a chance that Rafa Leao could leave AC Milan during the summer transfer window.”

Premier League clubs are already inquiring about Leao.

Romano further confirmed that while Leao is not currently being pursued by either Barcelona or Bayern Munich, two unnamed Premier League clubs have already reached out to gauge the situation.

“There are many rumours coming from England about Premier League clubs,” he said.
