The remarkable Liverpool swap deal involving Darwin Nunez that could secure a major signing for the Reds – opinion

Liverpool is actively seeking a new centre-forward as they prepare for a potential exit of Darwin Nunez.

This summer, Liverpool is in the market for a new centre-forward to enhance their chances of defending their Premier League title.

The Reds have once again been significantly influenced by the talent of Mohamed Salah.

After amassing a total of 34 goals and 23 assists across all competitions, the Egyptian has concluded another season as Liverpool’s leading goalscorer.

He also secured his fourth Premier League Golden Boot for his efforts.

Currently, Arne Slot and his team are searching for a reliable striker who can work alongside Salah in the front three.

Victor Osimhen is once again on Liverpool’s radar, and the club may propose an intriguing exchange with Napoli to finalize a deal this summer.

Liverpool’s interest in Victor Osimhen

Speculation surrounding Osimhen’s future is intensifying as he appears poised to leave Napoli.

For years, various clubs have sought to lure the prolific goal scorer away from the Italian club, but no transfer has materialized.

Following his loan spell with Galatasaray, all indications suggest that Osimhen is set to depart Napoli.

According to GiveMeSport, Liverpool has identified the Nigerian as a ‘potential target’ during a recent meeting while exploring new No.9 options.

The 26-year-old recently turned down a reported £650,000 per week offer from Saudi Arabia, which would have represented an increase from his current earnings, estimated to be around £400,000.

However, the report suggests that Osimhen may be willing to adjust his wage expectations in anticipation of a move elsewhere.

Naturally, Napoli will be looking to find a replacement for the 26-year-old, and reports on some of their shortlisted targets could lead to an intriguing player swap deal proposal between the two clubs.

Liverpool may propose a swap deal with Napoli.

As reported by Alfredo Pedulla, Napoli has shown interest in two players from Liverpool, which may pave the way for a possible trade.

Gli Azzurri had previously expressed interest in Federico Chiesa last summer, and a second attempt to acquire him has not been dismissed.

The Italian forward is said to already feel that his time in England is over and could be transferred this summer after limited playing time under Slot.

Napoli is currently ‘actively searching’ for a new striker and has a ‘strong interest’ in Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguayan forward is another player likely to depart Anfield during this transfer window, having faced challenges in becoming a dependable goalscorer.

Liverpool might struggle to find a club willing to pay the full fee they initially invested in Nunez, making a trade deal potentially beneficial for all involved.

The Reds would gain a proven and consistent goalscorer in Osimhen, while Napoli would acquire a direct and preferred replacement, along with a local talent in Chiesa, whom they have been monitoring for nearly a year.

According to The Athletic, both Nunez and Chiesa have been identified as players Liverpool might consider offers for this summer.

With both players seemingly contemplating exits, it presents an ideal opportunity to propose two targets that Napoli desires in exchange for Osimhen, who is also expected to be transferred regardless.
