Arsenal has successfully secured Martin Zubimendi’s agreement. The Gunners are on the brink of signing Real Sociedad’s Zubimendi after overcoming competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Reports indicate that Arsenal has reached an agreement for the 26-year-old, pending only an official announcement.

The player has verbally accepted personal terms with Arsenal, who are prepared to activate his €60 million (£51m/$68m) release clause.

Earlier in January, it was reported that Arsenal was in advanced discussions with Real Sociedad to finalize a transfer for Zubimendi in the summer.

However, in March, new reports surfaced indicating that Real Madrid had entered the transfer race, alongside long-time admirers Barcelona.

The defensive midfielder has participated in 44 matches for La Real during the 2024-25 season across all competitions, netting two goals and providing two assists.

Their primary objective will be to maintain second place before acquiring reinforcements like Zubimendi in the summer.
