‘Sell him for £80m’ – Liverpool fans express frustration towards Alexander Isak as Newcastle United ultimately revel in victory.

Alexander Isak has encountered yet another minor injury and was unable to participate in Liverpool’s 3-2 loss against Manchester United.

Liverpool fans were left infuriated as Alexander Isak was absent during their 3-2 defeat to their fierce rivals, Manchester United.

Rumors began to circulate prior to the match that the Swedish player had sustained a groin injury. This was later confirmed when the line-ups were revealed, showing Isak was not included in the matchday squad.

Arne Slot was careful to downplay the seriousness of Isak’s most recent injury. He informed the media: “So, it is the situation so accept it. Of course, very unlucky and unhappy with the fact Alex picked up a small – really small – injury.

“That’s why this game came a bit too early. It wasn’t much but unfortunately it was too much for him to be able to play.”

Alexander Isak’s injury challenges

Isak has experienced five muscle injuries during his three-year tenure at St James’ Park. Newcastle United supporters attempted to caution Liverpool when the transfer negotiations reached an impasse last summer.

Since his arrival at the Reds, Isak has struggled with fitness issues until he suffered a broken leg in December. He netted his first goal since his return a week ago before encountering yet another groin issue.

Liverpool fans express discontent towards Alexander Isak?

Social media was flooded with criticism from Liverpool supporters once the news of Isak’s absence became public. One fan remarked: “Isak is an absolute failure of a signing, three goals in 16 games before injury and then just never fit again.”

Another notable user proposed that selling him – even at a £45million loss – could be a viable option. He stated: “I’d sell Isak this summer for £80million and reinvest in a reliable, fit player.

We can’t depend on his fitness next season.

The notion of him replacing Salah’s goals is absurd — Salah missed approximately 16 games in 9 years; Isak has already missed double that this season alone.

It’d take real

“We cannot depend on his fitness for the upcoming season. The notion that he could replace Salah’s goals is absurd. Salah has been absent for 16 matches over 9 years. Isak has already missed twice that number this season alone.

“It would require significant courage for Hughes and Edwards to acknowledge the error and sell, so it is improbable that it will occur. People may be frustrated with me, but the truth is that Isak has been unavailable for about 50 percent of Premier League matches over the past 4 seasons. And honestly, how much of that time has he been in peak condition?”
