Romano finally gives ‘here we go’ to next Liverpool transfer with ‘medical being planned’…

Romano has confirmed that Liverpool is moving forward with the next transfer, stating that a medical is being arranged.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool and Inter Milan have reached an agreement on a €35m deal for Curtis Jones, with plans for a medical underway.

The Reds have already seen Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate depart on free transfers to Tottenham and Real Madrid, respectively, while Mohamed Salah has also signed with Turkish club Trabzonspor.

Liverpool is cautious about potentially losing more key players from last season as they aim to recover from a disappointing year under Arne Slot, who was dismissed and succeeded by Andoni Iraola.

Jones, who had a fluctuating role in Slot’s lineup last season, is eager to leave Anfield this summer, with interest from Nottingham Forest and Inter Milan.

James Pearce from The Athletic reported earlier this summer that Liverpool is reluctant to part with Jones, the only local player on the team, but would agree to a sale if he requests a transfer and a reasonable offer is made.

Iraola has even suggested that Jones might remain at Liverpool, expressing admiration for the midfielder during pre-season, stating: “I hold Curtis in very high regard.

“He is an exceptional player, and I hope he continues with us and maintains his performance level.

“It’s crucial that he’s from Liverpool, and I appreciate his character. He appears to be a player with a strong personality, and I hope we can retain him, not just for this season but for the long term.”

Nevertheless, Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed on Tuesday that Inter Milan is preparing to submit another offer for the Liverpool midfielder this week.

Romano shared on his X account: ‘Inter is getting ready to make a new bid for Curtis Jones, as he has been their primary midfield target since January.

‘Further discussions will occur soon, as Inter has re-engaged with his representatives, and the new offer is not contingent on any other departures.

‘Everything hinges on the agreement between the clubs with #LFC.’

Liverpool and Inter Milan have reportedly reached an agreement for Curtis Jones, according to Romano. On Wednesday, Romano announced that a deal has been ‘agreed’ between the two clubs, providing his ‘here we go’ confirmation for the transfer.

Romano posted on X: ‘EXCLUSIVE: Inter agree deal to sign Curtis Jones from Liverpool, here we go! A verbal agreement has been established for a €35m package fee from #LFC, with an agreement also in place with the player and plans for a medical underway.’

Jones was expected to spend another season alternating between the starting lineup and the bench at Liverpool, a situation that was deemed unsatisfactory by the player, and it now appears he is set to move to Italy.
