Romano drops overnight Yan Diomande update after Liverpool bid rejected…

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Liverpool is planning to make another attempt to sign Yan Diomande after their initial bid was rejected by RB Leipzig.

According to David Ornstein from The Athletic, the Reds are ready to present an offer of approximately €100m (£86.8m) for the 19-year-old, which represents an enhancement over their previous proposal during negotiations with the Bundesliga club.

The Red Bull-owned team is eager to keep the Ivory Coast forward and extend his contract, and it would likely require an offer exceeding €130m (£112.8m) to persuade them to sell.

Romano anticipates a stronger bid from Liverpool for Diomande.

In an update shared on his YouTube channel early Sunday morning, Romano stated that Liverpool will be ‘very aggressive’ in their pursuit of Diomande and are preparing to make another approach to Leipzig for the winger.

He elaborated: “Liverpool had a bid of €100m turned down, but they will certainly make another offer. I have already mentioned this, and I can confirm that Liverpool will return to the negotiation table. They are actively engaging with the player, and behind the scenes, I can tell you that Liverpool is doing everything possible in terms of a financial proposal to secure the player’s agreement 100%.

“RB Leipzig continues to assert that they want to keep Diomande. They believe retaining him is a wise choice, offering him a substantial salary and a new contract, allowing him to decide his future next summer after experiencing Champions League football with Leipzig.

“Liverpool will be very aggressive. They will propose more than €100m. A significant offer is on the way from Liverpool to attempt to alter the current situation. Liverpool is diligently working on the player’s contract proposal and salary… they are making every effort to finalize this deal for Yan Diomande.

Liverpool appears resolute in their efforts to outmaneuver PSG for Diomande.

The Merseyside club seems to be leading the race to acquire the 19-year-old, as Paris Saint-Germain has yet to make a formal bid for him (The Athletic). However, it is evident that a substantial offer will be necessary to convince Leipzig to part with him.

The Bundesliga team’s position is bolstered by Diomande’s impressive performances at the World Cup, which have further enhanced his already stellar reputation through his contributions for Ivory Coast on the international stage. Consequently, any agreement for the young player is expected to surpass £100m when all factors are considered.

Football finance analyst Stefan Borson has suggested that Liverpool could feasibly invest over £250m during this transfer window, with a significant portion allocated to the Ivorian if they manage to persuade Leipzig to sell.
