Liverpool is in the news regarding Alexander Isak, who has been tentatively associated with a transfer to Anfield in recent months.

Newcastle United appears to be quite confident about retaining forward Alexander Isak, who has been linked with Liverpool, this summer, as he has appeared in promotional videos for the upcoming season’s kits.

The 25-year-old has been significantly connected with potential moves to both Liverpool and Arsenal after a remarkable couple of seasons at St James’ Park since his arrival from Real Sociedad in 2022.

Overall, the Sweden international has netted 62 goals and provided 11 assists in 108 matches for Eddie Howe’s team, including a decisive goal in this season’s Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

However, despite Howe acknowledging earlier this month that he could not assure Isak’s presence at Newcastle next season, it seems the Magpies are somewhat optimistic about him remaining at St James’ Park, as he was reportedly involved in promoting the next season’s kit.

When asked about his future at Newcastle prior to the Carabao Cup final in March, Isak stated: “Regarding my future, it’s not something I really think about.

I’ve mentioned many times throughout the season – just concentrate on the task at hand – and now is probably the least opportune time to consider anything else, so all of our attention is solely on Sunday and performing well, and hopefully bringing the trophy back to Newcastle.

“I’ve indicated that I’m not really contemplating the summer, but yes, that will likely become a topic of discussion once the season concludes. We will truly see because no discussions have taken place yet.

Chronicle Live has reported that the management at Newcastle is optimistic that achieving Champions League qualification will dispel any speculation regarding the forward’s future.

This follows Howe’s refusal to provide any assurances that the player will remain at St. James’ Park for the upcoming season.

On Sunday, Howe stated: “I never make those guarantees about any player.

It’s not related to Alex’s future; I would be unwise to sit here and make such claims.

“Our goal is to retain our top players. I have consistently mentioned this since I took on this role.

We must hold onto our best players and also recruit additional quality players to enhance our strength, as the club’s ambition and that of everyone involved is focused on long-term success, and that is the only path we can pursue to achieve it.
