Prolific striker say yes to Arsenal move as Mikel Arteta is told star is desperate to sign…

Prolific striker agrees to join Arsenal as Mikel Arteta is informed that the player is eager to sign.
Arsenal engages in ‘direct discussions’ with the 108-goal striker, who is ‘pushing’ for his ‘dream’ transfer.
Arsenal finally has the opportunity to acquire the striker they have long desired, potentially disrupting Manchester United’s transfer strategy.
Arsenal is presented with the chance to secure the striker they have always wanted, while also hindering Manchester United’s season before it even begins.
Both Premier League powerhouses are seeking a new striker this summer, with Viktor Gyokeres being viewed as the most appealing choice.
The Sporting CP forward, whose contract at the Jose Alvalade Stadium runs until June 2028, made 33 appearances in the Primeira Liga this season, scoring 39 goals and providing eight assists.
He played a crucial role in Rui Borges’ squad, leading the Lions to their second consecutive title.
The Swedish international also contributed to Sporting’s domestic double, scoring a last-minute equalizer in a 3-1 victory over Benfica in the Taça de Portugal final.
Gyokeres has certainly made a name for himself this season, drawing interest from several top European clubs.
Arsenal has long been interested in the Swede, with their admiration dating back to his time at Coventry City in the Championship.
Andrea Berta is believed to be a ‘big admirer’ of Gyokeres, but as of now, no official offer has been made.
By not placing a bid, it appeared that the Gunners had rolled out the red carpet for United to swoop in and finalize a deal. However, Ruben Amorim’s team still faces stiff competition in the pursuit of Gyokeres’ signature.
According to the Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, Juventus is keen on signing the Sporting star. The report suggests that the Italian club is looking to capitalize on the uncertainty within the Premier League.
It is reported that Juventus has had discussions with Gyokeres’ representatives and is ready to present him with a contract worth £11 million per year. The Serie A club is also expected to make an official bid exceeding £60 million ‘in the coming days’.
Corriere dello Sport reports that any potential action from Juventus hinges on whether Dusan Vlahovic departs this summer. The 25-year-old forward is facing an uncertain future in Turin, as he has recently entered the final year of his contract.
If reports from Italy are accurate, Juventus could potentially outmaneuver Arsenal and United before the month concludes. Should the Old Lady succeed in signing Gyokeres, the Gunners might swiftly redirect their focus to Vlahovic, leaving United without a target.
Interestingly, Arsenal attempted to acquire the Serbian from Fiorentina in January 2022, but Juventus intervened and finalized a £66.4m (€80m) transfer. Vlahovic was asked about the north London club’s interest back in June 2022.
In an interview with The Telegraph, he stated: “Perhaps my agent is aware [of Arsenal’s offer] – but I never discussed it with anyone. I had only one club in my thoughts, because Juventus is Juventus.
“There’s nothing more to add. And now I feel privileged to wear this jersey. It’s amazing; every time I don it, I truly connect with their essence.
“The Juventus spirit aligns with my own. When you arrive here, you never give up; you fight continuously and make sacrifices. This was certainly what I was seeking.”
Vlahovic made 29 appearances in Serie A this season, netting 10 goals and providing four assists. He had a promising start to the season before suffering a couple of minor muscle injuries.
The £38m-rated striker found it challenging to secure a permanent spot in Thiago Motta’s starting eleven upon his return in the new year.
However, he maximized the playing time he received, contributing to Juventus finishing fourth and qualifying for the Champions League.
While Vlahovic may not be the most appealing striker available this summer, he could serve as a valuable stopgap for Arsenal’s attack until a top-tier option arises.
With only 12 months remaining on his contract, the former Gunners target would be available at a reasonable price.
All the while, he could complicate matters at Old Trafford…
