Paul Merson has just predicted the winner of Arsenal vs PSG over both legs of the Champions League semi-final…

Paul Merson has recently shared his prediction for the outcome of the Champions League semi-final between Arsenal and PSG.
This matchup is one of the most intriguing encounters in the history of Europe’s premier competition.
Although Arsenal has not performed at their peak in the Premier League this season, their impressive victory over Real Madrid in the quarter-finals indicates they could be a formidable contender in Europe.
On the other hand, PSG, under Luis Enrique’s tactical guidance and featuring the dynamic Ousmane Dembele in attack, presents a significant challenge for any opponent.
Merson, a former Arsenal player, has expressed his belief that Arsenal will prevail against PSG in the semi-final.
He initially showed confidence in Arsenal’s ability to overcome PSG, noting that while he respects PSG as a strong team, Arsenal has the edge due to PSG’s previous knockout stage losses to teams like Liverpool and Aston Villa.
Merson stated on Sky Sports: ‘I believe Arsenal will win over two legs.
Although PSG’s first leg performance against Liverpool was exceptional, they ultimately lost that match 1-0, which is often overlooked.’
He firmly supports Arsenal’s chances of defeating PSG and advancing to the Champions League final.
They performed exceptionally well. However, they were barely holding on at Anfield, and then they faced Villa, where they completely outplayed them, scoring a crucial last-minute goal to secure a 3-1 lead.
When they visited Villa Park, there were moments in the match where it seemed clear that Aston Villa was destined to win.
Paul Merson highlighted that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal team is very disciplined, which could provide them an advantage against PSG.
He believes Arsenal has a strong chance and slightly favors them over PSG in a two-legged matchup, citing their discipline as a key factor for victory.
Arsenal’s significant advantage over PSG is notable, although some may side with Merson and believe the Parisians will prevail against the North London team.
Nevertheless, Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has the potential to dominate PSG and validate Merson’s prediction.
While players like Vitinha, Joao Neves, and Fabian Ruiz are talented, they struggled against Aston Villa, particularly with the physicality of the English side.
John McGinn and Marcus Rashford excelled as Villa triumphed 3-2 that night. Given Rice’s status as one of the top athletes globally and his defensive expertise, he could pose significant challenges for Luis Enrique’s team.
