‘Opening bid’: Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal are about to bid for £50m star after agreeing five-year deal…

‘Initial offer’: Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal is preparing to make a £50m bid for a star player after finalizing a five-year contract.
Arsenal has just secured a five-year deal with a player whom Ian Wright previously identified as having a ‘problem’.
The club is making significant strides in the transfer market, and new sporting director Andrea Berta is starting to demonstrate his value.
Berta has already enhanced the squad depth available to Mikel Arteta at Arsenal by signing Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, and Brentford’s Christian Norgaard is expected to join soon.
In recent seasons, Arsenal has consistently recruited from within the Premier League, and they plan to continue this trend this summer.
Speaking of trends, Arsenal aims to acquire more players from Chelsea, which explains their interest in 23-year-old Noni Madueke.
Recent reports indicate that Arsenal has reached an agreement on personal terms with Madueke, although a bid has yet to be submitted to the west London club.
Arsenal is prepared to make an ‘initial offer’ for Noni Madueke.
However, journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on X, stating that Arsenal is now ready to submit an ‘initial offer’.
Currently, Arsenal believes they lack adequate cover on the right side of their attack for Bukayo Saka.
Ethan Nwaneri’s future at Arsenal is currently uncertain, but the 18-year-old appears to be primarily viewed as a number 10.
Thus, Arsenal requires additional depth on the right, and Madueke is an excellent stylistic match.
In his update, Romano stated: “I understand Arsenal is preparing to send an initial offer for Noni Madueke after reaching an agreement with the player on personal terms.
“I was informed that Madueke has committed to a five-year contract valid until June 2030, which has already been approved by the player’s representatives.”

It is widely reported that Chelsea anticipates recovering approximately £50 million if they decide to sell Madueke this summer, a winger who netted 11 goals and contributed five assists last season.
Ian Wright once identified a ‘problem’ that Noni Madueke needed to address.
In 2023, Arsenal legend Ian Wright pointed out a minor issue that Madueke must overcome to potentially reach the highest level of performance.
Wright made these comments on Match of the Day after Chelsea secured a 3-1 victory against Bournemouth.
While the pundit was primarily praising Madueke, he also noted areas where the young English winger could improve, particularly regarding his end product.
Wright remarked: “I believe he made a significant impact today. Frank [Lampard] included him in the starting lineup against Arsenal, stating that the reason for his selection was due to his hard work in training aimed at achieving consistency to secure his place in the team, and he has succeeded.
“He performed exceptionally well today, causing [Matias] Vina numerous problems. However, the issue lies with his final ball.
He tends to hold onto it for too long, and he must quickly learn to make better decisions in those situations.
“He possesses the ability to dribble past defenders, and as time progresses, he will start to deliver the ball into the box more effectively. Once he masters that aspect, Chelsea will have a genuine talent on their hands.”
Two years later, Madueke has certainly made strides in that area, but the former Tottenham Hotspur youth player may still feel that he can elevate his game further at Arsenal.
