Newcastle Joins Chelsea and Villa in Pursuit of €30 Million PSG Prodigy

Newcastle United has focused its summer recruitment strategy on acquiring young talents with great potential, and another promising teenager has now caught the club’s attention.

As reported by AfricaFoot’s Kokou Alfred Zikpi, Newcastle is keeping a close eye on Paris Saint-Germain’s rising star Ibrahim Mbaye, who is also being monitored by Chelsea and Aston Villa, the 18-year-old Senegalese international.

“The right winger, who developed through the Paris Saint-Germain academy, is under the watchful eye of Newcastle, Chelsea, and Aston Villa,” Zikpi stated. “His speed, ability to create opportunities, and long-term potential make him a highly coveted prospect.”

Mbaye is contracted with PSG until June 2028, which gives the French club a strong position in negotiations. AfricaFoot mentions a Transfermarkt valuation of €30 million (£26 million), although other sources suggest PSG may demand a significantly higher fee if they decide to allow a permanent transfer.

“The young Senegalese talent remains tied to PSG until June 30, 2028,” Zikpi noted. “His estimated value of €30 million by Transfermarkt highlights the significance placed on his potential.”

Should the Magpies pursue Mbaye, they will encounter fierce competition. AfricaFoot also indicates that Borussia Dortmund is interested in Mbaye, while earlier reports have associated Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and various Bundesliga teams with the winger.

“The Senegalese player is reportedly on Borussia Dortmund’s radar, according to exclusive information from AfricaFoot,” Zikpi added.

Ultimately, Mbaye’s circumstances at PSG may create an opportunity. The teenager is seeking more playing time, and his representatives are exploring options outside of Paris due to intense competition for minutes in the PSG forward lineup.

AfricaFoot has not reported any offer or formal negotiations from Newcastle, suggesting that the Magpies are still in the observation phase, if they are interested at all.

Would you consider pursuing a deal around €30 million (£26 million) for Mbaye due to his potential, or should Newcastle concentrate solely on players who are prepared to contribute right away and possess more experience? Please share your opinions in the comments below.
