Liverpool Really Determined to Sign £100m Star After Yan Diomande…

Liverpool is highly motivated to secure the signing of Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton this summer, as they persist in negotiations for Yan Diomande, according to journalist Matteo Moretto.

A year ago, after clinching the Premier League title in Arne Slot’s inaugural season, and following an expenditure exceeding £400m in the summer transfer window of 2025, it was difficult to predict the challenges Liverpool would face during the 2025-26 season.

A disappointing title defense in the Premier League saw them finish 25 points behind champions Arsenal, ultimately resulting in Slot’s dismissal after end-of-season evaluations regarding performance and future direction.

Having guided Bournemouth to a sixth-place finish and Europa League qualification, Andoni Iraola has been selected by FSG as they aim for a more successful campaign in 2026-27.

Liverpool’s management understands the necessity to support the Spaniard in the transfer market, especially with the confirmed departures of Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, and Mohamed Salah.

One of the 43-year-old’s primary objectives will be to bolster a forward line that is expected to be without Hugo Ekitike until 2027 due to injury, as well as to find a suitable long-term replacement for Salah.

Liverpool has pinpointed Diomande for this role, but they are also exploring other positions.

Liverpool is keen on acquiring Adam Wharton.

According to Moretto, who spoke on Radio Marca, Liverpool is eager to sign Wharton from Palace this summer, expressing significant interest in him.

Sources from GIVEMESPORT indicated earlier this week that the Reds hold a strong admiration for the England international, who was overlooked for a place in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad.

With Palace qualifying for the Europa League, they are unlikely to part with one of their top players for anything less than their valuation, which stands at an impressive £100m according to Alan Nixon.

As interest in Wharton is set to increase, Liverpool continues to pursue a deal to secure Diomande from RB Leipzig.

As per sources from GIVEMESPORT, the Reds have advanced in their negotiations with the player and are now optimistic about his willingness to join them, despite competition from Champions League champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The main hurdle may lie in reaching an agreement on a transfer fee with the Bundesliga club for the 19-year-old talent, as they are not inclined to let him go for a low price.

Reports from Germany indicate that they might ask for as much as £130m for the Ivory Coast international, although a figure exceeding £100m could be more feasible.
