Liverpool identifies its next transfer target following the advancements of Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez in a £34m deal.

Arne Slot’s Liverpool has already had a profitable summer transfer window and is considering another significant acquisition if one of their ongoing negotiations proceeds as anticipated.

Liverpool plans to pursue Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi as a substitute for Jarell Quansah, who is set to move to Bayer Leverkusen. Erik ten Hag holds the Reds’ academy graduate in high regard.

The former Manchester United manager views him as a perfect alternative for Jonathan Tah, who is expected to transfer to Bayern Munich this summer.

Although Liverpool is hesitant to part with Quansah this summer, it is believed that an offer of approximately £40m (£34m) could persuade them to sell.

If that occurs, Liverpool’s management has already identified an ideal replacement.

The Merseysiders have long admired Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi.

Liverpool has been keeping an eye on the developments regarding the England star’s future, as he has just one year left on his contract at Selhurst Park.

However, they may encounter competition from Newcastle, who have also been pursuing Guehi in recent seasons.

“I believe the most crucial aspect is consistently giving my best for this football club,” the defender commented on his future last year.

“I come in every day and strive to maintain that standard.

“I put in the effort. This football club has provided me with so much. I am still under contract here, so my focus remains on this club.

“Therefore, for me, the priority is simply to perform at my best and see what the future brings.”
