An incredibly quick player is now ready to sign with Arsenal after parting ways with a rival in the Premier League, as reported by a journalist.

According to a journalist, a lightning-quick player is on the verge of joining Arsenal after leaving a competing Premier League team.

Arsenal is poised to finalize the acquisition of Elijah Upson following his departure from Tottenham Hotspur, having successfully outmaneuvered several prominent European clubs for his signature, as reported by journalist Simon Jones.

Tottenham has surprised many with the intensity and effectiveness of their summer transfer activities thus far, but Arsenal’s squad requires significantly less overhaul after an impressive 2025-26 season where they narrowly missed out on winning both the Premier League and the Champions League in a penalty shootout.

So far, their only incoming transfer has been the addition of Illan Meslier to their goalkeeping roster on a free transfer, following his departure from Leeds United last month at the conclusion of his contract.

Currently, the Gunners are focusing on strengthening their forward line and midfield, with top industry sources confirming their interest in acquiring Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes during this summer transfer window, although they have yet to initiate discussions with the Magpies regarding a deal.

The north London club is also aiming to enhance their attacking options after accepting a bid from Besiktas for Leandro Trossard, with Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge being a target, alongside their primary focus, Aston Villa and England’s Morgan Rogers.

Arsenal Triumphs in Competitive Pursuit of Tottenham Defender

As reported by Daily Mail journalist Jones, Upson has made the decision to join Arsenal after leaving their rivals Tottenham this summer.

The exceptionally quick centre-back, who was a former 100m sprint champion during his school years and the son of ex-Gunner Matthew, has chosen to stay in north London despite interest from some of the largest clubs across Europe.

The gifted 18-year-old also received offers from Chelsea, Manchester City, Everton, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, and Monaco, but has decided to join the Premier League champions.

He is expected to connect with their youth teams before aiming to transition to the first team in the upcoming seasons.

Arsenal Engages in Discussions for Signing ‘Best Player in the World’

Arsenal is focused on acquiring a new left-sided attacker for Mikel Arteta’s squad this summer, particularly if Trossard leaves, and reports suggest they have initiated contact regarding a potential transfer for Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.

The Brazilian has two years left on his contract at the Bernabeu, but if negotiations for a new deal stall, Real may consider selling the talented Brazil international.

Vini Junior and his agents are reportedly seeking an increase in salary to approximately £500,000 per week from his current £350,000 weekly wage, while the La Liga club is eager to negotiate a £400,000-a-week contract.

Arsenal is not the only Premier League team being alerted by intermediaries about the 26-year-old’s availability, as Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool have also expressed varying degrees of interest.

There is no doubt that signing the Brazilian would be a significant statement for any of the clubs mentioned, and it would be exciting to see him compete in the Premier League.
